Özet
öz Çalışma konusunu Çanakkale ve çevresinde bulunmuş olan Artiodactyla fosilleri oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, 8 lokalitede Suidae'ye ait 8, Tra- gulidae»ye ait 14, Giraf f idae ' ye ait 82 ve Bovidae'ye ait 81 olmak üzere toplam 185 Artiodactyla fosili bulunmuş ve tanımlanmıştır. Artiodactyla takımı Sarpdere ' de »Dorcatherium sp., Tragocerus amaltheus, Gazella deperdita, Pachytragus ep. i- le ; Dutludere ' de,Bunolistriodon sp., Listriodon splendens, Dorcatherium sp., Palaeotragus coelophrys, Palaeotragus cf. coelophrys, Samotherium boissieri, Samotherium sp., Gazella gaudryi ile ; Nebi suyu' nda, listriodon splendens ile ; Sı- ğmdere ' de, Dorcatherium sp., Palaeotragus sp., Samotherium boissieri, Samotherium sp., Tragocerus amaltheus, Gazella deperdita ile ; Karçeşme ' de, Samotherium sp. ile ; Kozbaşı'n dâ, Dorcatherium sp., Palaeotragus coelophrys ile ; Arıkaşa- ğı' nda, Sus erymanthius, Dorcatherium sp., Gazella deperdita ile ; Külâhlı ayağı ' nda, Sus erymanthius, Palaeotragus coelo phrys, Palaeotragus sp., Samotherium boissieri, Samotherium sp., Helladotherium duvernoyi, Palaeoreas lindermayeri, Pro- tragelaphus skouzesi, Prostrepsiceros rotundicornis, Trago cerus amaltheus ve Gazella deperdita ile temsil edilmiştir. Çalışma alanında bulunmuş olan fauna bileşenleri nin düşey dağılımları ile Avrupa, Asya ve Afrika' daki fau nalar gözönüne alınarak, Sarpdere lokalitesine Geç Astara- siyen, Dutludere lokalitesine Vallesiyen, Nebisuyu lokali-II tesîne Geç Astarasiyen, Sığındere lokalitesine Geç Vallesi- yen, Karçeşme, Kozbaşı, Arıkaşağı lokal it elerine Vallesiyen ve Külâhlı ayağı lokalitesine de Turoliyen yaşı verilmiştir. Çanakkale ve çevresindeki tüm fauna temsilcileri gözönüne alındığında, Orta Miyosen yaşlı lokalitelerde or- man-savan alanların, Üst Miyosen yaşlı lokalitelerde ise, savan-step alanların egemen olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Çalışma alanındaki lokalitelerde saptanmış olan Artiodactyla temsilcilerinin Avrupa, Asya ve Afrika 'daki Orta ve Üst Miyosen yaşlı lokalitelerde de bulunmuş, olması, sözkonusu zaman aralıklarında coğrafik, klimatik ve ekolo jik koşulların bu gurubun geniş bir alana yayılımına uygun olduğunu göstermekte ve aralarında cins ve tür birliği ku rulabilmektedir.

Ill SUMMARY Artiodactyla fossils, found in Çanakkale and its vicinity comprise the subject of the present study. A total of 185 Artiodactyla fossils ; 8 belonging to Suidae, 14 to Tragulidae, 82 to Giraffidae and 81 to Bo- vidae were found and described. The order Artiodactyla is represented with Dorcat- herium sp., Tragocerus amaltheus, Gaz ell a deperdita, Pachy- tragus sp. in Sarpdere ; with Bunolistriodon sp., Listriodon splendens, Dorcatherium sp., Palaeotragus coelophrys, Palae- otragus cf. coelophrys, Samotherium boissieri, Samotherium sp., Gazella gaudryi in Dutludere ; with Listriodon splen- dens in Nebisuyu ; with Dorcatherium sp., Palaeotragus sp., Samotherium boissieri, Samotherium sp., Tragocerus amalthe us, Gazella deperdita in Sığmdere ; with Samotherium sp. in Karçeşme ; with Dorcatherium sp., Palaeotragus coelophrys in Kozbaşı } with Sua erymanthius, Dorcatherium sp., Gazella deperdita in Arıkaşağı ; with Sus erymanthius, Palaeotragus coelophrys, Palaeotragus sp., Samotherium -boissieri, Samot herium sp., Helladotherium duvernoyi, Palaeoreas lindermaye- ri, Protragelaphus skouzesi, Prostrepsiceros rotundicornis, Tragocerus amaltheus,: Gâzella deperdita in Külâhlıayağı. Taking into consideration the vertical distributi ons of the faunistic components found in the study area with the fauna of Europe, Asia and Africa ; the following age-lo cality combinations are established :?ı.y Late Astaracian for Sarpdere, Vallesian for Dutlu- dere, Late Astaracian for Nebisuyu, Late Vallesian for Si- ğmdere, Vallesian for Karçeşme, Kozbaşı, Arıkaşağı, Turoli- an for Külâhlıayagı locality. Taking into consideration the total faunal repre sentatives found in Çanakkale and its vicinity, it is conc luded that forest- savannah conditions were dominant in Midd le Miocene localities, while in Upper Miocene localities sa vannah-steppe conditions were dominant. The Artiodactyla representatives described from o- ur, study area are also present in Middle and Upper Miocene localities of Europe, Asia and Africa. These data show us that, during the indicated age periods ; the geographic, cli matic and ecologic conditions were suitable for the members of the order to distribute in a wide-spread area, so that it is possible to establish genera-species relationships betwe en them.
