Özet
Bu araştırma bibliyoterapi temelli psikoeğitim programının yaşlı bireylerin depresyon ve umutsuzluk düzeylerine etkisini karşılaştırmak amacıyla yapılan randomize kontrollü deneysel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini hafif ve orta derecede depresif belirtileri olan 65 yaş ve üzeri 38 birey oluşturdu. Araştırmanın verileri Şubat -Haziran 2023 tarihleri arasında“Geriatrik Depresyon Ölçeği (GDÖ-15)”ve“Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği (BUÖ)”iletoplandı. Birinci deney grubuna“Bibliyoterapi Temelli Psikoeğitim Programı”ikinci deney grubuna ise“Psikoeğitim Programı”uygulandı. Psikoeğitim uygulandıktan sonra GDÖ-15 toplam puanları birinci deney grubunun son test (2±1,29) ve izlem testinde (3,54±1,13), ikinci deney grubunun son test (4,17±1,95) ve izlem testi (5,67±1,13) ile karşılaştırmada anlamlı farklılık saptandı (p<0,05). Birinci deney grubunun son test ve izlem testi GDÖ-15 puanları, ikinci deney grubunun son test ve izlem testi puanlarından daha düşüktür. Birinci deney grubunun BUÖ son testinde (4,92±1,38) ikinci deney grubunun son testine (6,42±1,44) göre anlamlı farklılık görülmemiş olup (p>0,05) BUÖ izlem testi puanları arasında anlamlı farklılık belirlendi (p<0,05).Kontrol grubunun depresyon ve umutsuzluk düzeylerinde istatistiksel açıdan fark bulunmadı (p>0,05). Bibliyoterapi temelli psikoeğitiminyaşlı bireylerin depresyonu ve umutsuzluğu azaltmakta ve izlem sürecinde bu etkiyi korumakta psikoeğitimegöre daha etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşıldı.

This research is a randomized controlled experimental trial to compare the effect of psycho education and bibliotherapy-based psychoeducation program on the depression and hopelessness levels of elderly individuals. The sample of the study consisted of individuals aged 65 years and older with mild to moderate depressive symptoms. The data of the study were collected between February-May 2023 with the“Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-15)”and“Beck Hopelessness Scale (BIS)”. The first experimental group was applied to the“Bibliotherapy Based Psycho education Program”and these condexperimental group was the“Psycho education Program”. After psycho education, there was a significant difference in the comparison of the total scores of GDS-15 with the last test (2±1.29) and follow-up test (3.54±1.13) of the first experimental group and the last test (4.17±1.95) and follow-up test (5.67±1.13) of these condexperimental group (p<0.05). The final test and follow-up test GDS-15 scores of the first experimental groupare lower than the final test and follow-up test scores of these condexperimental group. In the last test of the first experimental group (4.92±1.38), there was no significant difference compared to the last test of these condexperimental group (6.42±1.44) and a significant difference was determined between the scores of the BIS follow-up test (p>0.05). There was nostatistically significant difference in the depression and hopelessness levels of the control group (p>0.05). It was concluded that bibliotherapy was more effective than psycho education in reducing depression and hopelessnes in elderly individuals and maintaining this effect during the follow-upprocess.
