Özet

Kripto para teknolojisi Bitcoin ile gündeme geldiği 2008 yılından bu yana hem birçok farklı sektörü etkilemiş hem de birçok yeni farklı sektörler meydana getirmiştir. Etkilenen önemli sektörlerden bir tanesi finans sektörü ve meydana gelen yeni sektörlerden bir tanesi de madencilik sektörü olmuştur. Kripto paranın üretim aşamalarını tanımlayan madencilik süreci yıllar içerisinde bir sektör haline gelmiş ve çevre üzerinde olumsuz etkiler doğurmaya başlamıştır. Kripto para madenciliğinin meydana getirdiği çevresel etkiler yüksek elektrik tüketimi, karbon ayak izi oranının artmasına neden olması ve elektronik atık meydana getirmesinden oluşmaktadır. Herhangi bir kontrol mekanizması ve denetim olmadan devam eden madencilik süreci çevresel etkileri nedeni ile gündeme gelmeye başlamıştır. Bu kapsamda kripto paranın ne olduğu, nasıl ortaya çıktığı ve nasıl geliştiği açıklanmıştır. Daha sonra, kripto para üretimini ifade eden madencilik sürecinin dünyada ve Türkiye'de hem hukuki statüleri hem de çevre üzerindeki etkileri incelenmiştir.

Since 2008, when cryptocurrency technology came to the fore with Bitcoin, it has impacted many different sectors and created many new sectors. One of the main sectors affected was the financial sector, and one of the new sectors that emerged was the mining sector. The mining process, which defines the production stages of cryptocurrency, has become an industry over the years and has started to have negative impacts on the environment. The environmental effects of cryptocurrency mining are high electricity consumption, increased carbon footprint, and electronic waste. The mining process, which continues without any control mechanism and supervision, has started to come to the fore due to its environmental effects. In this context, it was explained what cryptocurrency is, how it was created and how it has evolved. Then, the legal status of the mining process, which is the expression of cryptocurrency production, in the world and in Turkey and its impact on the environment are examined.
