This study addresses the importance of methods in teaching Arabic language to speakers of other languages. Methods help convey the cultural and linguistic contents, both integral parts of the language, that play major roles in the acquisition and the understanding of the language. The study proceeds to explore the cultural context in chosen sample works that are being used to teach the Arabic language in Turkey. In the meantime, I tried to reveal the cultural commonalities between Arabic and Turkish cultures and their part in teaching the Arabic language to Turks as a second language. The study draws on the use of descriptive, investigative and statistical methods. It comprises; introductory chapters of the selected works along with the cultural content, cultural commonalities between Arabic and Turkish languages and language levels and skills. As for the selected sample works, they are; ''Silsiletü'l-Lisan''(اللسان سلسلة(, ''Akademik Arapça''(للجامعات العربیة (and 'al-Arabiyya al-Wadiha'(الواضحة العربیة سلسلة(. All of which are amongst the most important book series in teaching the Arabic language to Turks that are still in use in Turkish universities. The study concludes that attention should be paid to cultural commonalities between Arabic and Turkish cultures when preparing a curriculum to teach the Arabic language to Turks in order to contribute to the exchange of cultures by virtue of strong past and present.
