Özet
Kristevacı psikodilbiliminde öznenin kimliklerini ve gerçeğin fenomenolojik koordinatlarını aynı anda hem tehdit eden hem de yeniden inşa eden iğrenç, kültürün ve konuşan öznenin öteki/anne anasoylu ve onun bedeniyle kurduğu ikircimli ilişkiyi tasavvur eder. İğrenç'in temsil ettiği monolojik ataerkil kültürden kovulmuş heterojen ikilikler, antagonistik/sınır ötesi üslup ve içeriğiyle modern özneyi, modernliği ve özellikle avangard türünü oluşturur. Dünyevi, maddi, bedensel, geçici ve dönüştürücü dinamiklerle uğraşan böyle bir antagonizm, Rachel Rosenthal'ın Gaia, Mon Amour (Gaya, Aşkım), L.O.W. in Gaia (Gaya'da L.O.W.) ve Pangaean Dreams: A Shamanic Journey (Pangayacı Düşler: Şamanik Bir Yolculuk) adlı Gayacı oyunlarında hem öznenin kendisine ait hem de evrensel mitolojik bir figür olarak iğrenç Dünya-Anne motifinde cisimleşmiştir. Bu tez, bahsi geçen oyunları Gayacı iğrenç motifi ile özekteş kuran öznenin psiko-seyahatnamesindeki ötekinin/anasoylunun yaratıcı karşıtlıklarını/yıkımlarını biçimsel ve psikanalitik olarak incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu nedenle zaman-mekansal ve psikoseksüel geri dönüşler, çürümeler, bozulmalar, heterojen ikililikler ve tekrarlar karşılaştırmalı olarak izlenmiş ve kaotik olanın dönüştürücü versiyonları kaydedilmiştir. Böylelikle sadece varlık bilimi değişim ve dönüşümle açıklayan süreç felsefesinin Amerikan avangard tiyatrosunda nasıl kullanıldığı saptanmamış, aynı zamanda bu kullanımın politik alanda performatif süreçleri tespit edilmiştir.

The abject, that simultaneously threatens and reconstructs the identities of the subject and phenomenological coordinates of reality, in Kristevan psycholinguistics, envisages the hesitant affiliation of culture and the speaking subject with the (m)other, matrilinear and her body. It represents the heterogenous dualities expelled from the monological patriarchal culture and therefore constitutes the modern subject, modernity, and especially the avantgarde with its antagonistic/transfrontier style and content. Such an antagonism dealing with what is mundane, material, bodily, ephemeral, and transformatively dynamic becomes encarnalized both in the subject's archaeology and culture's universal mythology through the abject Earth-Mother figure in Rachel Rosenthal's Gaean plays Gaia, Mon Amour, L.O.W. in Gaia and Pangaean Dreams: A Shamanic Journey. This dissertation aims to investigate stylistically and psychoanalytically the abject (m)other's/matrilinear's creative antagonisms/destructions through the motif of the Gaean Abject in the psychotravelogue concentric in these plays. To do so, the psychosexual and spatiotemporal returns, decays, subversions, heterogeneous dualities, and repetitions are compared and contrasted to record the transformative powers of the chaotic abject. In this way, not only the influence of the hermeneutics of change and dynamism incidental to process philosophy infiltrated to American avant-garde theatre is exposed but also the very use of such a discourse's performative politics is discussed.
