Özet

Otizm Spektrum Bozukluğu (OSB), günümüzde sıklıkla karşılaşılan, sosyal etkileşim ve iletişimde yetersizliğe sebep olan, bireyi yaşam boyu etkileyen nöro-gelişimsel bir bozukluktur. Kullanıcısı olan bireyin mekânla kurduğu ilişki ile mekân özelleşir ve anlam kazanır. Bu nedenle OSB'li öğrencilerin alacağı özel eğitimin içeriği kadar, eğitim aldıkları mekânların tasarımı da önemlidir. Çünkü özel eğitimler, özel mekânlar gerektirir. Bu çalışmada, OSB'li öğrenciler için hazırlanan eğitim yöntemlerinin amaçlarına ulaşabilmesi için ihtiyaç duydukları iç mekân ve donatı tasarımında eksiklerin tespit edilmesi problem olarak belirlenmiştir. Amaç, OSB'li öğrencilerin özel eğitimlerini verimli alabilmeleri için en uygun iç mekân tasarım ölçütlerini ortaya koymaktır. Algı/görsel algı erken yaşlarda oluşmaktadır ve nöro-gelişimsel bozukluklarından dolayı OSB'li öğrencilerin görsel algılarında farklılıklar bulunmaktadır. Bu nedenle, tasarım ölçütlerini ortaya koymak için görsel algı unsurları olan; biçim, doku malzeme, ışık ve renk unsurlarından yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamına, erken tanı ve doğru/sürekli eğitimin öneminden dolayı 3-12 yaş arası OSB'li öğrenciler dâhil edilmiştir. Çalışmada ilk olarak kuramsal alt yapıyı oluşturmak için alanyazın araştırması yapılmış ve başka araştırmacıların yaptığı anket çalışmalarının sonuç verilerinden faydalanılmıştır. Daha sonra Tohum Otizm Vakfı Eğitim Kurumları'nda görev yapan 10 eğitimci ile görüşülmüş ve OSB'li öğrencilerin mekândaki görsel algısı üzerine bilgiler nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel analiz tekniği ile soru-cevap niteliğinde toplanmıştır. Aynı zamanda eğitim aldıkları mekânlar gözlemlenmiştir. Tüm bulguların değerlendirilmesi sonucu, görsel algı unsurları üzerinden belirlenen tasarım ölçütleri tablo üzerinde açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Yapılan bu çalışma, benzer alanlarda yapılacak çalışmalara alt yapı bilgilerini sunarak alana katkı sağlamayı hedeflemiştir.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), in this day and time, is a frequently encountered neuro-developmental disorder that causes inability in social interaction and communication and affects individuals for lifelong. With the relationship that the user has with the place, the place becomes private and makes sense. For this reason, the design of the places where the children with ASD are educated is important as much as the content of the special education that they will receive. Because special education requires special places. In this study, the detection of deficiencies in interior and equipment design which the students with ASD need to achieve the objectives of the education methods prepared for them has been identified as a problem. The aim is to establish the most appropriate interior design criteria for the students with ASD to be able to effectively receive their special education. Perception and visual perception occur at an early age, and due to the neuro-developmental disorders, there are differences in the visual perceptions of the students with ASD. Therefore, elements of visual perception such as form, texture, material, light, and color have been used to reveal the design criteria. Students with ASD aged 3- 12 have been included in the scope of the study due to early diagnosis and accurate, continuous education. In the study, firstly to create the theoretical infrastructure, literature review has been made, and the results of surveys have been conducted by other researchers were used. Afterwards, 10 educators working at Tohum Autism Foundation Educational Institutions has been interviewed, and information on the visual perception of students with ASD in the space has been collected with using the descriptive analysis technique, which is one of the qualitative research methods, in the form of questions and answers. Also, they have been observed in the places where they have been educated. As a result of the assessment of all findings, the design criteria determined by elements of visual perception have been tried to explain on the table. This study aims to contribute to the area by providing infrastructure information for studies to be carried out in similar areas.
