n SUMMARY A RESEARCH ON RATIONALISM OF STEEL RESIDENTIAL HOUSES IN TURKEY This Msc Thesis in Department of Structure consists of four chapters. In the first chapter; the history of steel framed buildings in development of industrialization have been made. The advantages and manufacture of cold formed steel sections have been explained. In the second chapter; generic types of light steel sections have been told. Examples of steel framed buildings in foreign countries have been evaluated in details by figures. Steel framed building systems in Turkey are also explained. In the third chapter; the steel framed building system and reinforced concrete system are studied on a sample project design. A comphrehension between two systems has been made with some analysises. The cost analysis, workmanship and producing time of the systems in the building site are examined. In the fourth chapter; an evaluation on the steel framed building system and reinforced concrete system from the rationalism point of view has been made.
