Özet

In this study the main research question was set as to discuss“what is the effect of speculative capital on Turkish economy, political, social and cultural issues?”. To achieve these objectives, both secondary and primary data were collected. Secondary data was collected through reviewing books and articles while primary data was collected through 5 interviews. The interviews conducted delivered results suggesting recent occurrences in the Turkish economy were the result of lobby action by interest groups acting only in the interests of increasing profits, rather than the future of the nation. All interviewees expressed the belief that such interest groups represented foreign financial institutions, banks in particular and their branches throughout Turkey.
