Bu tez fotoğrafın senaryoda dramaturjik bir dönüm noktası oluşturduğu adı geçen 9 filmi incelemektedir (Blow-up by M. Antonioni, Photographia by N. Papatakis, Proof by J. Moorhouse, The Watcher by J. Charbanic, Memento by C. Nolan, Le fabuleux destin d' Amèlie Poulain by J.P. Jeunet, Intacto by J.C. Fresnadilo, The Snake of June by S. Tsukamoto, One Hour Photo by M. Romanek). Aynı zamanda fotoğrafın hareketli görüntü içerisinde nasıl çekildiğine odaklanmaktadır. Bu analizler ve araştırmalar için neo-formalizm olarak da bilinen Wisconsin Okulu ve Rudolf Arnheim'in görsel alımlama teorileri takip edilmiştir.

The dissertation examines nine films (Blow-up by M. Antonioni, Photographia by N. Papatakis, Proof by J. Moorhouse, The Watcher by J. Charbanic, Memento by C. Nolan, Le fabuleux destin d' Amèlie Poulain by J.P. Jeunet, Intacto by J.C. Fresnadilo, The Snake of June by S. Tsukamoto, One Hour Photo by M. Romanek) in which still photography plays a dramaturgic role as a turning point in the script. It also examines the way still photography is being filmed within the moving image. In the analysis and the examination of the above issues the dissertation follows the theory of the School of Wisconsin also known as neo-formalism as well as Rudolf Arnheim's theories of visual perception.
