SUMMARY To analyse the artwork with the semiotic method is the problematic of this thesis, which is completed, in five main chapters. In the first chapter, theses discusses about semiotic theories which are progres sively innovated in time and try to be related to semiosis theories. In relation with the first chapter, the second chapter analyses the thinking method of structuralism on lin guistic ground that semiotic is based on. Third chapter consists of theses of theorist whose analysing methods were used. In the forth chapter, semiotic analysing methods are discussed in the context of“aesthetic text”. The fifth chapter includes the analysis of the work, which is the practical part of the research with a semiotic method and the de tailed description about the analyses. The research is a theoretical and a practical experience which claims to do editing and analysing of the work that is considered to be a text -because art is a form of lan guage - with a structural perception. The semiotic terminology is used in its original language in this research in order to avoid any miscomprehension that Turkish transla tion would cause - till an extensive semiotics dictionary is published. vu
