Özet
Bu çalışma, COVID-19 yoğun bakım ünitesinde tedavi edilmiş ve servislere nakli gerçekleştirilmiş hastaların yoğun bakım deneyimlerini incelemek amacıyla yapıldı. Araştırma tanımlayıcı, kesitsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Aralık 2020- Mayıs 2021 tarihleri arasında Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Hastanesi COVID-19 Yoğun Bakım Ünitesi'nden servislere nakil olmuş, örnekleme dahil edilme kriterlerine uyan, çalışmaya katılmaya gönüllü 105 hasta oluşturmuştur. Çalışmada literatür doğrultusunda hazırlanan Sosyodemografik ve Klinik Özellikler Formu, Yoğun Bakım Deneyim Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Hastaların en olumlu ve en olumsuz deneyimlerini tanımlamak için ek olarak iki açık uçlu soru sorulmuştur. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde yüzdelik hesaplamalar, ortalama, t-test, Mann Whitney–U, Kruskal Wallis ve pearson korelasyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmamızda COVID-19 yoğun bakımda yatan hastaların yoğun bakım deneyimi ölçek toplam puan ortalaması 68,65±7,92 olarak bulunmuştur. Yoğun bakımda yatış süresi, spontan solunum süresi, fiziksel tespit uygulaması, sedasyon uygulanması ve mekanik ventilasyon uygulanması hastaların yoğun bakım deneyim ölçeği toplam puan ortalamasını istatiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde etkilemiştir (p<0,05). Hastaların COVID-19 yoğun bakımda yaşadıkları en olumlu ve en olumsuz deneyimleri bakıma yönelik deneyimler, çevreye yönelik deneyimler ve duygusal deneyimler olmak üzere üç ana temada incelenmiştir. COVID-19 hastalarının yoğun bakım sürecinde yaşadıkları deneyimlerin ve etkileyen faktörlerin tanımlanması bu doğrultuda uygun girişimlerin planlanması hemşirenin önemli sorumluluğudur. Bu çalışmadan elde edilen bilgilerin bu planlamaya katkıda bulunacağı düşünülmektedir.

ABSTRACT This study was carried out to examine the intensive care experiences of patients who remained in the COVID-19 intensive care unit and were transferred to the services. The research is a descriptive, cross-sectional study. The sample of the study consisted of 105 patients who were transferred to the clinic from Dokuz Eylul University Medical Faculty Hospital COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit between December 2020 and May 2021, who met the inclusion criteria of the sample and voluntarily participated in the study. In the study, Sociodemographic and Clinical Characteristics Form prepared in line with the literature, Intensive Care Experience Scale were used to collect data. Additional two open-ended questions were asked in order to define the most positive and most negative experiences of the patients. Percentage calculations, mean, t-test, Mann Whitney-U, Kruskal Wallis and pearson correlation analysis were used in the evaluation of the data. In our study, the mean score of the intensive care experience scale total score of the patients hospitalized in the COVID-19 intensive care unit was found to be 68,65±7,92. Length of stay in the intensive care unit, spontaneous breathing time, physical restraint application, application of sedation and application of mechanical ventilation had a statistically significant effect on the total mean score of the patients' intensive care experience scale (p<0,05). The most positive and the most negative experiences of the patients in the COVID-19 intensive care unit were analyzed under three main themes: experiences with care, experiences with the environment, and emotional experiences. It is the nurse's important responsibility to define the experiences of COVID-19 patients in the intensive care process and the affecting factors and to plan appropriate interventions accordingly. It is thought that the information obtained from this study will contribute to this planning.
