Dr. Cem Somel Eylül 1998, 107 sayfa Bu tezin esas konusu, Türk elektronik sanayiinin teknolojik yetenekliliğinin endojen büyüme kuramları açısından incelenmesidir. Yirminci yüzyılın ikinci yansında gerçekleşen teknolojik gelişmeler sonucu bu sektörün önemi artmıştır. Hem yeni üretim felsefeleri, hem de elektroniğin tüm diğer üretim sektörü ürünlerine entegre olması elektronik sanayini etkilemiştir. Türk elektronik sektörünün üretim ve ticaret değerleri incelenmekte ve Türk elektronik sanayiindeki yenileme faaliyetleri anlatılmaktadır. Türk elektronik sektörü yetersiz devlet desteği, insan kaynakları sıkıntısı, ithalat bağımlılığı gibi problemlerden ötürü gelişmekte sıkıntılar yaşamaktadır. Gelecek yıllarda Türk ekonomisi için bir büyüme güdüsü olabilecek olan bu endüstrinin gelişmesi için yapılması gerekenler hakkında sonuçlar üretilmiştir.

Ill ABSTRACT AN ANALYSIS OF TURKISH ELECTRONICS SECTOR FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF ENDOGENOUS GROWTH THEORY Onur, Didem M.S., Department of Economics Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cem Somel September 1998, 107 pages The main subject of this thesis is the analysis of the Turkish electronics industry's technological capability from the viewpoint of endogenous growth theories. The technological developments in the second half of the twentieth century have resulted in an increase in the importance of this sector. Both new production philosophies and the integration of electronics in products of other manufacturing sectors affected electronics industry. The production and trade values of the Turkish electronics sector are analyzed and renovation activities in the Turkish electronics industry are described. The Turkish electronics sector suffers from problems like insufficient government support, scarcity of human resources, import dependency that hinders the growth of the sector. Conclusions are drawn for the development of this industry, which can be a development motive for the Turkish economy in the succeeding years.
