Human beings have always tried to find a solution in order to deal with the challenges which are faced during life. One of the challenges is transportation on roads. They invented the steam powered vehicle. However, it was unable to carry people, and not practical to use. Until Karl Benz, they improved the vehicles step by step, and Karl Benz is known as the inventor of the modern automobile. Not only the common usage and necessity of the automobile, also the decreasing sources such as petrol pushes scientists to make improvements. A main improvement in this area is intelligent cars. Intelligent cars were able to perform routing, navigation, and control. This feature brings with car self-parking property. Some models of Lexus, Toyota, Volvo, Ford, Kia, Volkswagen and Skoda use the self-parking system. This system works as an autopilot, and uses a parallel parking system. The main point on this system is detecting objects around the vehicle using sensors. Sensors work as a transmitter and a receiver. With the help of sensors, the car detects the parking space size and the distance from the road, as well as other objects. In this project, we have a similar approach. We employ a car which parks by it. We use a remote control car as a model. The distance was measured with the ultrasonic sensor. Once, data which was received from sensor, has been obtained the software autonomously works in two ways; finding a parking space and parking into this space. First, we put our car to the road, and we arrange the distance from the side-wall to the car. Our car starts to progress on the main road and it starts to look for a gap for parking. When it finds a parking space, it sends a signal. After the parking space is detected by sensors, the car has been successfully parked into that space. All in all, the project was successfully completed using a prototype car. The car finds a perfect space, and parks automatically in that space.
