Turkey is a key strategic partner and long-term candidate to the European Union. However, despite 60 years of relations and 21 years of candidacy, neither relations are smooth, nor the Turkish membership seems in the horizon. Even though negotiation process has reached to an impasse, as a candidate country, Turkey is still expected to align itself with EU acquis. This thesis focuses on Turkey's Foreign Policy alignment with EU CFSP as the 'Foreign Policy' is one of the most visible and tangible policy areas for analyses. It tries to provide an answer to the questions of what the reasons of the sharp decline in Turkey's alignment rate in the recent years would be while the rate was very high in the last decade and to what extent it can be considered as De-Europeanization. It has been argued that the new challenges in its neighbourhood following the Arab Spring led Turkey to pursue a more security-driven foreign policy and moved Turkey away from the EU. After analysed the trasnformation process of the Turkish Foreing Policy from Westernoriented and isolationist to multidimensional and proactive one in last two decades under AKP government, the changing security environment and Turkey's policy on Syria, mostly focusing on Turkish miltary interventions, have been discussed. Findings indicate that Turkey is moving away from Europe due to its more security-driven foreign policy approach in recent years as response to increased security threats in its borders and specifically use of military power over soft power in the conflict. Yet, considering Turkey's whole diplomatic efforts on Syria and the soft power tools that Turkey used in its relations with other countries and its relations in general with the EU, it can be said that the case is not complete DeEuropeanization
