Özet
“20. Yüzyıl Heykel Sanatında Plastik Bir Öğe Olarak Mekân”isimli eser-metin çalışmasının amacı, 20. Yüzyılda ortaya çıkan modern heykel sanatının mekân kavramı ile olan ilişkisi açısından, mekânsal imge yorumlarını araştırmaktır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde mekân kavramının kökenleri ve düşünce tarihi açısından çeşitli yorumları incelenmiştir. Antik Yunan uygarlığından günümüze değin uzanan çizgide mekân kavramı hakkında yapılan çalışmalarla ilgili çeşitli görüşlere yer verilerek, mekân kavramının tarihsel süreç içerisinde geçirdiği aşamalar ortaya konulmuştur. 'Mekân ve İmge' adlı bölümde insan zihninin mekân ile olan ilişkisini ve bu ilişki sonucunda ortaya çıkan mekân imgesinin sanat nesnesi ile olan bağlantısı incelenmiştir. 'Mekânsal Algı' ve 'Mekânsal İmge' başlıkları altında insanın mekânı kavrayış aşamaları ve zihinde imge olarak meydana gelen mekân yansımasının nitelikleri araştırılmıştır. Son olarak mekânsal imge, farklı sanat disiplinleri ile karşılaştırmalı olarak ortaya konulmuş, çeşitli örneklerden yola çıkarak, sanat eserlerindeki mekânsal imge yorumları değerlendirilmiştir. 'Heykel ve Mekân İlişkisi' bölümünde, 20.yüzyıla kadar olan ve 20.yüzyılda heykel ve mekân ilişkisi, iki ayrı başlık altında incelenmiştir. 20. yüzyıla kadar olan dönemde, tarihsel süreç içersinde değişen toplumsal koşulların etkisiyle heykelin çevresiyle kurduğu ilişki düzeyinde olan mekân, 20. yüzyılla birlikte heykel sanatının başat sorunsallarından bir haline gelmiş ve mekânın heykele dahil olmasıyla önemli bir dönüşüm geçirmiştir. '20.yüzyıl Heykel Sanatında Mekân Yorumları' bölümünde çalışmanın temel amacı olan mekânsal imgelerin heykel sanatı açısından ele alınış biçimleri, örnekler üzerinden incelenmektedir. Bu örnekler, 'Sanat Akımlarının Yaklaşımları', 'Mimari Formların Yorumları', 'Doğal Mekânların Yorumları', ve herhangi bir akıma bağlı olmayan, birbirinden farklı sanatçıların 'Üslupsal Yaklaşımları' olarak dört ayrı başlık altında araştırılmıştır. Son olarak 'Uygulamalar' bölümü, mekânsal imgeleri kullanarak gerçekleştirilen çalışmalara ayrılmıştır. Bu bölümün ilk başlığı olan 'Mekân Öğesi ve İçerik', uygulamaların konusunun, mekânsal öğeler ile olan bağlantısını açıklamayı amaçlamaktadır. 'Plastik Bir Öğe Olarak Mekân' isimli ikinci başlık altında ise uygulamalarda kullanılan mekânsal öğelerin biçimsel özellikleri incelenmiştir.

The aim of the work-text study titled“Place as a Plastic Element in the Twentieth Century Sculpture Art”is to investigate the interpretations of spatial images in terms of the relation of modern sculpture art emerging in the 20th century with the concept of place. In the first part of the study, the origins of the concept of place and its various interpretations in terms of intellectual history are examined. The stages of the concept of place in the historical process have been revealed by giving place to various opinions about the studies on the concept of place in the process extending from the ancient Greek civilization to the present day. In the section“Place and Image”, the relationship of the human mind with place and the connection between the image of place and the art object as a result of this relationship has been examined. Under the titles of“Spatial Perception”and“Spatial Image”, the stages of human understanding of place and the qualities of place reflection that occur as an image in the mind have been investigated. Finally, the spatial image was presented in comparison with different art disciplines, and the spatial image interpretations in the works of art were evaluated on the basis of various examples. In the“Relationship between Sculpture and Place”section, the relationship between sculpture and place until the 20th century and the 20th century has been examined under two separate headings. Until the 20th century, the place, which was at the level of the relationship between the sculpture and its environment due to the changing social conditions in the historical process, became one of the main problems of the art of sculpture in the 20th century and underwent an important transformation with the inclusion of the place in sculpture. In the“Spatial Interpretations in 20th Century Sculpture Art”section, the main purpose of the study, is to examine the way spatial images are held in terms of sculpture art through examples. These examples have been researched under four different titles as“Approaches of Art Movements”,“Interpretation of Architectural Forms”,“Interpretation of Natural Places”and“Stylistic Approaches”of different artists. Finally, the 'Applications' section is devoted to the studies carried out using spatial images. The first title of this section, 'Place, Element and Content', aims to explain the connection of the subject of the applications with the spatial elements. The formal characteristics of the spatial elements used in the applications were examined under the second title“Place as a Plastic Element”.
