This master's final dissertation aims at exploring the perception of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) within Europe and to examine if CLIL is an applicable and sustainable methodology for private secondary education in Turkey. The study was conducted for the duration of 2019-2020 academic year in a private secondary school with 240 foreign language students in order to investigate the impact of CLIL on English language competence and L2 motivation. During 1-year period of foreign language instruction, both EFL and CLIL modules were practiced at an equal density at the school. At the end of each term, various exams (based on grammar, vocabulary, listening and reading comprehension) were performed for both modules and the total scores of all grades were statistically analyzed through SPSS in order to detect significant differences between experimental CLIL and mainstream EFL groups. In addition, intragroup comparisons were statistically carried out to observe gender differences in the test scores. Finally, the statements of motivation questionnaire were evaluated by frequency analysis one by one in order to identify L2 learners' attitudes toward EFL and CLIL. Consequently, the findings were interpreted and concluded that CLIL in the long run is effective and practicable for future academic terms.
