In this M.A. Thesis, the dynamics of external factors in great power politics will be explained by implementing theories of international relations, especially rooted in neoliberalism. Further, this study shows a comparative analysis of the rivalry among great powersin the past, as well as at present. It includes historical, theoretical and practical analysis of the issue. The Thesis mostly concentrates on US and China as respectively established and emerging superpowers, but on the other hand, it does not ignore the periphery states and emerging powers in world politics. The new approach to defining of hegemony and its dynamics will be presented in detail.
