Özet (Çeviri)

Objectives: The present study examines the proportion of variance attributable to withinperson and between-person variability in decision fatigue, whether (within-person) day-today variability in occupational stress factors predicted decision fatigue, and whether (between-person) those with higher levels of occupational stress factors have higher levels of decision fatigue. Design: A daily diary design was used to collect data over 7 consecutive days (working and non-working days). Questionnaire items pertaining to the day were completed at the end of the working day. Methods: 60 participants took part who were in paid full-time employment. A short baseline questionnaire was used to be completed prior to commencing the daily diaries. The daily diaries contained 12 items to assess demand, control, effort, reward and decision fatigue. Results: 78% of the total variance in decision fatigue belonged at the within person level of the model. It was found that demand and effort were correlated with decision fatigue. Control and reward at the within person level were not significant on days with more or less decision fatigue. Individuals experiencing high control were experiencing less decision fatigue, and individuals experiencing higher levels of demand and effort were experiencing higher levels of decision fatigue. Conclusions: Demand and effort are strongly correlated with each other and is driving most of the perception of decision fatigue. Whilst those who have more control in their jobs than others are experiencing less decision fatigue. The within person effects of either control or reward are not significant on days with more or less decision fatigue.
