The Syrian civil war has been one of the most brutal domestic crisis that the world has ever witnessed. The impact of this catastrophic war was not only limited to the Syrian borders, but also expanded beyond the large Mediterranean basin that covers Middle East, North Africa and Europe. Millions have left their homes, families, jobs and schools in order to survive and to find a safer place to lead their lives. Due to the nature of the ongoing war, the refugees venture seems to be a one-way ticket to the hosting countries. Turkey, as the most influenced country with this refugee influx, has to provide not only primal humanitarian aid but also social and cultural support for integrating these people, who would likely to become Turkish citizens in the near future. This study aims to analyse the role of Turkish language, in concerning the integration of refugees while discussing other facts on the historical background of this crisis as well as challenges in which Turkey faces with language education and how it is absolutely necessary to use language as a tool for social integration.
