Özet

Bu araştırma, yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitesinde bebeği olan annelerin algıladıkları hemşire desteği ile umutsuzluk düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacı ile tanımlayıcı, kesitsel ve ilişki arayıcı nitelikte gerçekleştirildi. Araştırma Şubat-Temmuz 2021 tarihleri arasında İstanbul'daki 2 ayrı hastanenin yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitelerinde yapıldı. Bu hastanelerin yoğun bakım ünitesinde bebeği olan anneler (N=450) araştırmanın evrenini oluşturdu. Araştırma şartlarını sağlayan ve araştırmaya katılmayı gönüllü olarak kabul eden 152 anne araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturdu. Verilerin toplanmasında Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Hemşire Ebeveyn Destek Ölçeği ve Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği kullanıldı. Veriler ilk 24-36 saat içerisinde, yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitesinin dinlenme alanında, anneler tarafından, sessiz ve boş bir ortamda dolduruldu. Yatış sırasında annelerin Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeğini yanıtlamaları istendi. Yenidoğan taburcu edilmeden önce ise Hemşire Ebeveyn Destek Ölçeği doldurtulup, Beck Umutsuzluk ölçeğini tekrar yanıtlamaları istendi. Verilerin değerlendirilmesi ve analizi için SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) programı kullanıldı. Analiz ve bulgularda; annelerin ve bebeklerin sosyodemografik özellikleri, bebeklerin gestasyonel haftası ve vücut ölçüleri, araştırmaya katılan ebeveynlerin Hemşire Ebeveyn Destek Ölçeği ve Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği puanlarının dağılımı ve puan ortalamaları karşılaştırıldı. Katılımcılara sağlanan hemşire ebeveyn desteği ile ailelerin umutsuzluklarının azaldığı, motivasyonlarının, gelecek ile ilgili duygularının ve beklentilerinin arttığı, ilk yatış sırasında ve taburculuk öncesinde verilen Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeğinin ortalama puanları arasında azalışın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu (p<0.001) tespit edildi.

This research was carried out in a descriptive, cross-sectional, and relationship-seeking manner to examine the relationship between perceived nurse support and hopelessness levels of mothers who have babies in the neonatal intensive care unit. The research was carried out in the neonatal intensive care units of two hospitals in Istanbul between February and July 2021. The mothers (N=450) who had babies in the intensive care unit of these hospitals formed the population of the study. 152 parents who met the research conditions and voluntarily accepted to participate in the research constituted the sample of the research. Personal Information Form, Nurse Parental Support Scale and Beck Hopelessness Scale were used to collect data. It was ensured that the data were filled within the first 24-36 hours in the rest area of the neonatal intensive care unit which is a quiet and empty environment. During hospitalization, mothers were asked to answer the Personal Information Form and Beck Hopelessness Scale. Before the newborn was discharged, the Nurse-Parental Support Scale was filled, and mothers were asked to answer the Beck Hopelessness Scale again. SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) program was used for the evaluation and analysis of the data. In analysis and findings, sociodemographic characteristics of mothers and babies, gestational week and body measurements of babies, distribution of Nurse Parental Support Scale and Beck Hopelessness Scale scores and mean scores of the parents participating in the study were compared. It was determined that with the nurse parent support provided to the participants, the hopelessness of the families decreased, their motivation, feelings, and expectations about the future increased, and the decrease in the mean scores of the Beck Hopelessness Scale given during the first hospitalization and before discharge was statistically significant (p<0.001).
