This study was carried out to deterınine the effects of corn and wheat gluten on sına!! intestine histopathology and autoimmune parameters in healthy male rats. The care and feding of rats at Atatürk University Medical Experimental Application and Research Center, and laboratory analyzes were carried out in Atatürk Unıversity Veterinary Faculty, Pathology Department. There are 3 groups in the research; wheat, corn and soybean groups were determined. The study was conducted with 21 healthy newborn Spraque Dawley male rats, 7 rats in each group. The rats used in the study were fed with soy, corn or wheat feeds according to the experimental group they were in fora total of 60 days, from one day old to 30 days old with their mothers, from 30 days old to 60 days except for their mothers.Hereby, during the first 30 days of the experiment, the baby rats were ensure both accustomed to the feed and also provided the milk of their mothers fed the same trial feed. When the animals reached the age of 60 days, they were sacrificed under anesthesia and tissue samples were taken for histopathological and ımmunohistochemical examinations. According to the estimation obtained, it was determined that the wheat gluten group was longer than the other groups in which small intestinal villi were used (p<0.05). It was determined that villus atrophy was most prevalent in the corn gluten group (p>0.05). Lymphocyte plasma neutrophil value was determined most in soy group. Crypt hyperplasia was detected the most in the soy group and the lowest in the wheat group (p<0.05). It was determined that the difference between the transglutaminase and IgA antibody levels of the groups was not statistically significant. While the gliadin antibody !eve! of the groups was determined the highest in the soy group, it was determined the lowest in the wheat gluten group (p<0.05). v As a result, it was deterınüıed that wheat and com gluten did not have a negative effect on the histopathological and autoinunune paraıneters of the small intestine tissues ofhealthy rats without HLA-DQ2 and DQ8 genes. in order to obtain clearer results, longer-term feeding of rats and animal studies are İmportant to show the effects of gluten on intestinal histopathology and autoimmune paraıneters, but it is important to conduct studies to investigate the effect of gluten on these paraıneters in humans.
