Özet
Posthümanizm düşüncesinin iki perspektifi olan eleştirel posthümanizm ve transhümanizm güncel olgulara yaklaşımları ve bu yaklaşım üzerinden kurdukları gelecek tahayyülleri çerçevesinde farklılıklar göstermektedir. Modernist görüşün lokomotifi konumunda olan Aydınlanma düşüncesi ile hümanizm kavramlarına posthümanizmin bu iki perspektifi farklı yaklaşımlar sergilemektedir. Eleştirel posthümanizm, hümanizm olgusunun temelinde yer alan Avrupa merkeziyeçilik ve antroposentrizm düşüncelerine karşı çıkmakta, dünya yaşamını ayrımlardan, sınıflandırmalardan uzak, tek bir ortak yapı olarak görmektedir. Böylece hümanizm düşüncesinin belirlediği ayrımları reddederek, güncel yaşamının hümanizmin indirgediğinden çok daha karmaşık ve detaylı olduğunu ifade ederek, güncel olgulara farklı, karşıt bir bakış açısı sunmaktadır. Transhümanist görüş ise insanın potansiyeline ulaşmamış olduğunu, bu potansiyele ise ancak rasyonel akıl yardımıyla ulaşacağını savunmakta, böylece modernizmin lokomotifi niteliği taşıyan Aydınlanma ve hümanizmi destekleyen bir dünya görüşü şekillendirmektedir. Transhümanist görüş, insanı dünyanın merkezinde, adeta en üstün tür olarak konumlandırmakta, bu sayede hümanizmin özellikle antroposentrizm yaklaşımını desteklemektedir. Eleştirel posthümanizm ve transhümanizmin oluşturduğu söylemler, güncel olaylar ve olgular üzerinden okunabilmeye müsait bir yapı sunmaktadır. Bu noktada sinema sanatı önem kazanmaktadır. Öyle ki filmler yapıldıkları dönemin güncel olayları ve olgularını yansıtmada önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Bu tez çalışmasının odağını oluşturan Cosmic-Horror sineması ise bir bilimkurgu-korku alt türü olarak gerek güncel olaylara yaklaşımıyla gerekse kurduğu gelecek tahayyülleri ile posthümanist kuram çerçevesinden analize tâbi tutulabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada Cosmic-Horror sinemasının örnekleri olan The Void (2016), The Endless (2017), Annihilation (2018), In The Tall Grass (2019) ve Underwater (2020) filmleri, eleştirel posthümanizm ve transhümanizm söylemler üzerinden niteliksel film analizine tâbi tutulmuştur.

Critical posthumanism and transhumanism, which are two perspectives of posthumanist idea, differ within the framework of their approach to current phenomena and the future visions they have established through this approach.These two perspectives of posthumanism take different approaches to the concepts of humanism and Enlightenment, which is the engine of modernist vision. Critical posthumanism opposes the European centralism and anthropocentrism ideas at the heart of the humanism phenomenon and sees world life as a single common structure, free from distinctions and classifications.Thus, by rejecting the distinctions determined by the idea of humanism, he expresses that his current life is much more complex and detailed than the reduction of humanism, and offers a different, counterpoint to current facts. The transhumanist view argues that human has not reached his potential, and that he will reach this potential only with the help of rational reason, thus shaping a worldview that promotes Enlightenment and humanism, which is the engine of modernism.Transhumanist view positions human as the most superior species in the center of the world, thus supporting the approach of humanism, especially anthropocentrism. The discourses of critical posthumanism and transhumanism offer a structure that can be read through current events and facts.At this point, the art of cinema is gaining importance. So much so that films play an important role in reflecting the current events and facts of the period in which they were made.Cosmic-Horror cinema, which forms the focus of this thesis study, can be subjected to analysis from the framework of posthümanist theory both with its approach to current events and its future imaginations as a sci-fi-horror subtype. In this study, examples of Cosmic-Horror cinema such as The Void (2016), The Endless (2017), Annihilation (2018), In The Tall Grass (2019) and Underwater (2020) were subjected to qualitative film analysis through critical posthumanism and transhumanism discourses.
