First of all, this thesis emphasized the gradually enhanced use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in the battlefield and evaluates the compliance of such vehicles with the law of armed conflict. Thus, more specifically, in the first chapter of this thesis, it is examined the complexity of the usage of different terms to describe drones. On the other hand, in the second chapter, it is focused on the legality of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle usage in the battlefield in the light of the sources of international law. Moreover, second chapter also addresses and argues some contemporary challenges of use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in international law in the legal boundaries and limitation for the drone warfare and preventive measures to eliminate arbitrary use of drones within the framework of law of armed conflict sections.
