Özet
Ovaj rad je zasnovan na analizi istorijskih udžbenika iz Kraljevine Srbije i Kraljevine Jugoslavije, dakle, iz prve polovine 20. veka. Cilj rada jeste razumevanje načina na koji je vladavina Osmanskog carstva na Balkanu predstavljana u tim udžbenicima kao i širih društvenih i političkih uzroka, ali i posledica ovih narativa. Ispitaćemo i koncepte kontinuiteta, odnosno diskontinuiteta, ovakvih predstava i kroz taj proces doći do jedne opsežne slike o predstavljanju Osmanskog carstva.

This work is based on the analysis of history textbooks from the first half of the 20th century in the Kingdom of Serbia and Kingdom of Yugoslavia. The main goal is to get understand the way in which the substantial period of Ottoman rule in the Balkans was portrayed in those textbooks and to see what were the wider social and political causes, as well as impacts, of these narratives. Concepts of continuity and discontinuity of these representations will be tested and comprehensive image of Ottomans will be derived through this process.
