Özet
Araştırma, prematüre (preterm) yenidoğanlarda gastrik yolla beslenme sırasında yalancı emzik kullanımının total oral beslenmeye geçiş süresine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla deneysel olarak planlandı. Araştırma evrenini; İstanbul Üniversitesi Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi Hastanesi ve Sağlık Bakanlığı Şişli Etfal Hastanesi'nin prematüre servislerinde Ocak 97 - Aralık 97 tarihleri arasında yatan preterm yenidoğanlar oluşturdu. Vaka seçim kriterlerine göre (gestasyon haftası 29 - 34 arası, doğum kilosu 1000 - 1800 gr arası, apgar puanı 6 ve üzeri olan, riskli grup içinde yer almayan) seçilen 20 vaka ve 18 kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplam 38 preterm yenidoğan örneklemi oluşturdu. Veriler yenidoğan hemşirelerinin günlük olarak doldurdukları bakım formlarındaki kayıtlar (günlük yaşam belirtileri ve vücut tartısı) kullanılarak elde edildi. Preterm yenidoğanların total oral beslenmeye geçiş süresi ve hastanede kalış süresi belirlendi. Veriler istatistiksel olarak Mann-Whitney U testi, Student t testi, Ki-kare (chi-square) testi kullanılarak değerlendirildi. Araştırma sonucunda; gastrik yolla beslenme süresince yalancı emzik uygulanan vaka grubunun, emzik uygulanmayan gruba göre total oral beslenmeye daha erken geçtiği (t= 4,51 ; p < 0,05), tartı artışının daha fazla olduğu (t= 2,67 ; p < 0,05) ve hastanede kalma süresinin daha kısa olduğu saptandı ( t= 3,84 ; p < 0,05 ). 52

The Influence of The Application of Nonnutritive Sucking in Premature Infants on The Process of Transition of Total Oral Feeding. The study was planned as experimental in order to investigate the influence of the application of nonnutritive sucking in preterm infants during gavage feeding on the process of transition of total feeding. The population of the study consisted of the prematüre (preterm) infants who stayed in İst. University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Hospital and The Hospital of Şişli Etfal of Ministry of Health between Jan. 1997 and Dec. 1997. The sample consisted of 38 preterm infants whose gestation period differs between 29 - 34 weeks, birthweight was 1000 - 1800 gr, apgar score was above 5 and don't belong to the risky group. 20 of the constituted the experimental group and 18 of the control group. The data were attained from the records held by the infant nurses; daily weight gain, daily vital symptoms, the transition period to total oral feeding, hospital stay duration were observed. The data were evaluated statistically by using the Mann - Whitney U test, Student t test, Chi - Square test. According to the results it was found that the transition period to total oral feeding was earlier for the experimental group which was applied nonnutritive sucking than the control group (t= 4,51 ; p < 0,05), the experimental group gained more weight than the control group (t= 2,67; p<0,05) and hospital stay duration is shorter for the experimental group when compared with the control group (t= 3,84 ; p < 0,05). 53
