Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaokul öğrencilerinin tarih öğretiminde tarihsel film ve dizilerin kullanımına yönelik görüşlerini incelenmektir. Bu araştırma kapsamında, film etkinliği düzenlenen ve geleneksel tarih öğretimi ile müfredata uygun ders yapılan iki sınıfın başarı düzeyleri karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu yedinci sınıf öğrencilerden oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın uygulaması 2020-2021 eğitim-öğretim yılında İstanbul'da bulunan resmi ve özel ortaöğretim kurumlarında öğrenim gören ve iki ayrı sınıfta öğrenim gören ortaokul amaçlı örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen öğrencilerinden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmaya katılan 30 öğrenci bulunmaktadır. 7. Sınıf öğrencileri olan katılımcılar geleneksel öğretim ve film gösterimleriyle öğretim yöntemi olmak üzere iki gruba ayrılmıştır. Film gösterimlerinin etkisini incelemek için araştırmacı tarafından beş haftalık bir sürede müfredatta yer alan konunun öğretimi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yöntemlerin etkililiğinin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla öğrencilere ön test ve son test yapılarak konuya ilişkin başarı düzeyleri karşılaştırılmıştır. Başarı testine ek olarak her iki gruptaki öğrencilerin tarih dersine ilişkin görüşleri içerik analizi uygulanarak değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmada, başarı testinden elde edilen puanlarla nicel; öğrencileri görüşleriyle nitel analizlerin yapıldığı karma model uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen en önemli sonuçlar arasında, film gösterimleri sonrasında tarih dersi başarı sınavlarında anlamlı yükseliş saptanmıştır. İçerik analizine ilişkin önemli bulgu ise öğrencilerin film gösterimlerinin konulara göre ilerleyebileceği, filmlerin konuların anlaşılmasında ve pekişmesinde önemli bir yeri olduğu görülmüştür. Öğrenci görüşleri hem film etkinliği düzenlenen hem de geleneksel tarih öğretimi ile dersin anlatıldığı öğrencilerden alınmış ve görüşlerin her iki grupta benzerlik gösterdiği anlaşılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular ilgili alanyazınla birlikte değerlendirilmiş ve uygulamacılar ve ileride yapılacak çalışmalara yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The purpose of this research is to examine the views of secondary school students on the use of historical films and TV series in history teaching. Within the scope of this research, the success levels of the two classes in which a film event was held and traditional history teaching and lessons were taught in accordance with the curriculum were compared. The study group of the research consists of seventh grade students. The application of the research consists of students selected by secondary school sampling method, studying in public and private secondary education institutions in Istanbul in the 2020-2021 academic year and studying in two separate classes. There are 30 students participating in the research. Participants, who are 7th grade students, were divided into two groups as traditional teaching and film screenings. In order to examine the effect of film screenings, the subject in the curriculum was taught by the researcher for a period of five weeks. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the methods, pre-test and post-test were made to the students and their success levels were compared. In addition to the achievement test, the views of the students in both groups about the history lesson were evaluated by applying content analysis. In the research, the scores obtained from the achievement test were quantitative; A mixed model was applied, in which qualitative analyzes were made with the students' opinions. Among the most important results obtained in the research, a significant increase was found in the history lesson success exams after the movie screenings. The important finding regarding the content analysis is that the film screenings of the students can progress according to the subjects, and the films have an important place in the understanding and reinforcement of the subjects. Student opinions were taken from the students who were taught both the film activity and traditional history teaching, and it was understood that the views were similar in both groups. The findings obtained in the research were evaluated together with the relevant literature and suggestions were made for practitioners and future studies.
