Özet
Aldatma, ilişkilerde sıklıkla karşımıza çıkan, evliliklerin sona ermesine neden olan, ilişkinin tarafları ve tanıkları açısından yıkıcı sonuçlara yol açan olumsuz bir durumdur. Aldatma, önemli bir konu olması bakımından çeşitli araştırmalarda incelenmiş, nedenleri ve etkileri tartışılmıştır. Bu çalışmada ise amacımız aldatma eğiliminin toplumsal cinsiyet algısı ve kendilik algısı ile ilişkisini incelemektir. Literatürde bu ilişkiyle ilgili bilinen bir çalışma bulunmamaktadır. Bu yönüyle özgün bir çalışma olup literatüre önemli bir katkı sunacağı düşünülmektedir. Araştırma, Ankara'da ikamet eden ve 21-57 yaş aralığında bulunan evli bireylerle yürütülmüştür. Çalışmaya 232'si kadın ve 160'ı erkek olmak üzere 392 kişi katılmıştır. Çalışmada katılımcılara, demografik özelliklerini belirlemek amacıyla Sosyo-Demografik Bilgi Formu, aldatma eğilimini ölçmek üzere Aldatma Eğilimi Ölçeği, toplumsal cinsiyet algısını değerlendirmek için Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rolleri Tutum Ölçeği ve kendilik algısını belirlemek için Sosyal Karşılaştırma Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde SPSS-22 istatistik programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda aldatma eğilimi ile eşitlikçi cinsiyet rolü boyutu arasında negatif yönlü ve anlamlı, aldatma eğilimi ile diğer cinsiyet rolü boyutları arasında pozitif yönlü ve anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Aldatma eğilimi ile kendilik algısı arasında negatif yönlü ve anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Kendilik algısı ve cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin tutum düzeylerinin aldatma eğilimini yordadığı görülmüştür. Ayrıca aldatma eğilimi, toplumsal cinsiyet algısı ve kendilik algısının demografik değişkenlere göre anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği görülmüştür. Son olarak elde edilen sonuçlar literatür doğrultusunda tartışılmış ve öneriler sunulmuştur.

Infidelity is an unfavorable situation that often occurs in relationships, causing the termination of marriages, and causing devastating consequences for the partners and witnesses of the relationship. Since infidelity is an important issue, it has been examined in various studies and its causes and effects have been discussed. In this study, our aim is to examine the relationship between the infidelity tendency to and the perception of gender and self concept. There is no known study on this relationship in the literature. In this respect, it is an original study and it is thought that it will make an important contribution to the literature. The research was conducted with married individuals residing in Ankara and between the ages of 21-57. 392 people, including 232 women and 160 men, participated in the study. In the study, Socio-Demographic Information Form was used for the participants demographic characteristics, the Infidelity Tendency Scale to measure the tendency to deceive, the Gender Roles Attitude Scale to assess gender perception, and the Social Comparison Scale to determine self concept. SPSS-22 statistics program was used in the analysis of the data obtained. As a result of the study, a negative and significant relationship was found between the tendency to deceive and the egalitarian gender role dimension, and a positive and significant relationship between the tendency to cheat and the other gender role dimensions. A negative and significant relationship was found between the infidelity tendency and self concept. It was observed that self concept and attitude levels towards gender roles predicted the infidelity tendency. In addition, the tendency to deceive, gender perception and self concept were found to differ significantly according to demographic variables. Finally, the results obtained were discussed in line with the literature and recommendations were presented.
