Özet
Bu tez Osmanlı İmparatoluğu döneminde Türkçe öğretmek ve tercüman yetiştirmek amacıyla Avrupalı devletler tarafından açılmış olan dil oğlanları okulları ve bu okulların Türkçe öğretim yöntemleri ile ilgili konuları analiz etmeyi hedeflemektedir. Tezde ilk olarak dil oğlanları okullarının kuruluş ve gelişim süreçlerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. İkinci olarak ise okullardaki Türkçe öğretme yöntemleri ve bu süreçte kullanılan materyaller üzerinde durulmuştur. Başlangıçta sadece tercüman yetiştirmek amacıyla açılan bu okulların zaman içersinde yüklendiği farklı misyonlar analiz edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bahsi geçen okullarda sadece Türk dili öğretilmekle kalınmadığı, Türk kültürünün de öğrencilere aktarılmaya çalışıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Zamanla okulların müfredatlarında güncellemeler yapıldığı, okulların tercüman yetiştirme politikasına ek misyonlar edindikleri gözlenmiştir. Bu okullardan mezun olanlar diplomat ve çevirmen olarak önemli görevler üstlenmiş ve Avrupa'ya Osmanlının kültür ve edebiyatını tanıtmıştır. Bu tezde metodoloji olarak döküman analizi tercih edilmiştir. Tezin hazırlanması sürecinde alanda daha önce hazırlanmış tezlerden, dönemi anlatan kitaplardan, okul mezunlarının anıları ve mektuplarından, arşivler taranarak ortaya çıkarılmış çalışmalardan ve konu üzerine hazırlanmış makalelerden faydalanılmıştır.

This thesis aims to analyze the Schools of Infants of Language opened by European states in order to teach Turkish and train interpreters during the Ottoman Empire and the subjects related to the Turkish teaching methods of these schools. In the thesis, as the first step, it was aimed to examine the establishment and development processes of the Schools of Infants of Language. Secondly, the Turkish teaching methods in these schools and the materials used in this process were emphasized. It was tried to analyze the different missions of these schools over time, which were opened firstly for the purpose of training only interpreters. It was determined that not only the Turkish language was taught in the aforementioned schools, but also the Turkish culture was tried to be transferred to the students. Over time, it was observed that the curricula of the schools were updated and the schools had additional missions to their policy of training interpreters. Graduates of these schools took on important duties as diplomats and interpreters and introduced the culture and literature of the Ottoman Empire to Europe. Document analysis was preferred as the methodology of the current thesis. During the preparation process, the dissertations prepared before, the books describing the period, the memories and letters of the school graduates, the studies revealed by scanning the archives and the articles prepared on the subject were utilized.
