Özet
Güzel bir gülüşün genel yüz estetiği, mutluluk ve imaj üzerindeki etkisi çok açıktır. Gülüşün yüz estetiği üzerindeki etkisi toplum tarafından kabul edilmiştir. Estetik algı göreceli olmakla birlikte, hekimlerin hastalarda estetik gülümseme sağlaması belirli kurallar çerçevesinde çalışmalarını gerektirmektedir. Bu bağlamda, objektif dentolabial ve fasiyal analiz sonuçlarının, subjektif estetik algı sonuçları ile karşılaştırılması önem arz etmektedir. Bu çalışmada 4 protez uzmanı, 4 protez bölümü uzmanlık öğrencisi ve 4 stajyer diş hekimi değerlendirici olarak belirlenmiştir. Fasiyal/ dentolabial estetik değerlendirmeler için, 100 adet gönüllüden alınmış tam yüz ve gülümseme fotoğraflarını, estetik olup olmadığı yönünde 6 kriter bağlamında değerlendirmeleri istenmiştir. İlgili fotoğraflar, literatür desteğiyle referans olarak belirlenen değerler göz önüne alınarak objektif olarak, dijital ortamda da incelenmiştir. İstatistiksel olarak, değerlendiricilerin subjektif sonuçları ve bu objektif referans değerler arası karşılaştırmalar Cohen's Kappa testi; fasiyal ve dentolabial estetik algı değerlendirme karşılaştırmaları ise Ki-kare testi ile yapılmıştır. İstatistiksel analiz sonuçlarına göre öznel olan estetik algı büyük oranda objektif sonuçlar ile uyumlu çıkmıştır. Estetik algının objektif sonuçlarla olan uyumu artan mesleki tecrübeden etkilenmemiş ve bu bağlamda değerlendirici grupları arasında fark görülmemiştir. Estetik değerlendirmelerde sadece ağız bölgesinin değil tüm yüz analiz sonuçlarının irdelenmesi, tedavi başarısını olumlu yönde etkileme potansiyeline sahiptir.

The effect of a beautiful smile on overall facial aesthetics, happiness and image is very clear. The effect of smile on facial aesthetics has been accepted by the society. Although aesthetic perception is relative, providing aesthetic smile to patients requires physicians to work within the framework of certain rules. In this context, it is important to compare objective dentolabial and facial analysis results with subjective aesthetic perception results. In this study, 4 prosthodontist, 4 research assistant in department of prosthodontics and 4 intern dentists were determined as observer. For facial / dentolabial aesthetic evaluations, 100 volunteers were asked to evaluate the full face and smile photographs in the context of 6 criteria for aesthetics. The relevant photographs were analyzed objectively in digital environment, taking into account the values determined as reference with the support of the literature. Statistically, the comparisons between subjective results of the observers and the objective reference values were carried out with Cohen's Kappa test and comparisons of facial and dentolabial esthetic perceptions were made by Chi-square test. According to the results of statistical analysis, the subjective aesthetic perception is mostly compatible with the objective results. The harmony of aesthetic perception with objective results was not affected by increased professional experience, and in this context, there was no difference between the observer groups. Examining not only the mouth but also the whole face analysis results in aesthetic evaluations has the potential to positively affect the success of the treatment.
