Özet

Tez konusunu oluşturan Erzincan kenti, Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi ile Karadeniz Bölgesi'nin sınırında, Kuzey Anadolu Fay Hattı üzerinde geniş bir ovada kurulmuştur. Konumu nedeniyle tarih boyunca yıkıcı depremlere maruz kalmış ve bu depremler sonucunda birçok kez yer değiştirmiştir. Kent, son olarak 1939 depremi sonrasında tamamen yıkılmış ve yeniden kurulmuştur. 1938 yılında inşa edilen Erzincan Tren Garı, 1939 depreminden günümüze işlevini sürdürerek ulaşan tek yapı olmuştur. Deprem sonrasında kentin yeniden kurulması ve endüstrileşme süreci eş zamanlı gerçekleşmiştir. 1940'lı yılların sonunda kurulmaya başlayan endüstri yerleşkeleri demiryolu hattı ile ilişkili bir konumda planlanmış ve kentin yeniden kurgulanmasında belirleyici rol oynamıştır. Endüstri mirası niteliğindeki bu yerleşkeler günümüzde, periyodik depremler, bilinçsizlik ve koruma politikalarındaki eksiklikler nedeniyle risk altındadır. Bu bağlamda tezin temel amacı, kentin endüstri mirasının yerleşke ve yapı ölçeğinde belgelenmesidir. Tez kapsamında, 1939 depremi sonrasında yeniden inşa edilen kentin gelişimi, endüstri yerleşkelerinin kurulması ile bir arada ele alınarak bu yerleşkelerin kentin gelişim sürecindeki etkileri irdelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, endüstri yerleşkelerinin sahip olduğu değerler belirlenerek, korunmasına yönelik sorunlar ve Erzincan kenti için taşıdıkları potansiyeller ortaya konmuştur.

The province of Erzincan as the subject of the thesis is located on a wide plain on the North Anatolian Fault. Thus, it has been exposed to devastating earthquakes throughout its history and relocated as result of these earthquakes. The province has been devastated and reconstructed after the 1939 earthquake. Train Station has been the only building that has survived after the 1939 earthquake maintaining its functions until recently. Therefore, the train station has played an organizing role in the spatial construction of the new province. Establishment of the new province and industrialization process have happened simultaneously. Industrial campuses have been planned close to the railway route and played a major role in construction of the city. Erzincan industrial heritage has been at risk due to the reasons such as current policies, earthquakes, and unconsciousness. The purpose of this thesis was to document the industrial heritage of the province at campus and construction scale, and to reveal the effects of these campuses upon the development process of the city discussing the development of the province reconstructed after the 1939 earthquake along with the establishment of industrial campuses. Moreover, documenting the industrial heritage in the province was of remarkable considering the risks related to industrial heritage. In this study, the establishment process of the new province was analyzed, the constructions and tissues found in the industrial campuses were documented, the heritage values were determined, the risks to be exposed/exposed were determined, and the value, potential and problems of the industrial heritage were revealed.
