Özet
-5- OZET“ İstanbul Otellerindeki Balo Salonları Tasarımına Genel Bir Bakış ”konulu tez içinde yalnız İstanbul'daki oteller ele alınmıştır. Balo Salonları incelenerek gerekli tespitler yapılmış, bundan çeşitli sonuçlar çıkartılmıştır. Tez; giriş, onu izleyen üç bölüm ve sonuç bölümünden oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde, çalışmada ele alman konunun önemine değinilip,ulaşılmak iste nen amaç belirtilmiştir. Birinci bölümde, Balo Salonlarının kullanım amaçlan, salonların otel tipine göre planlanması, tasarım ilkeleri ve tasannu etkileyen faktörler ele alınmıştır. ikinci bölümde, İstanbul'daki otellerin balo salonları karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmiştir. Bu bölümde sekiz tane İstanbul otelinin balo salonu yer almaktadır. Sonuç bölümünde, balo salonlarının önemi, düzenlemede mimar ve işletmeci uyumunun önemi, salonlarda göze çarpan ortak ve farklı karakter özellikler bir kere da ha vurgulanmıştır.

-6- SUMMARY The social necessities of human beings are to obtain information on various subjects, to realize social activities, to amuse themselves etc..Places that can provide these necessities can help build relations between human beings and community. Ballrooms in hotels are big places that can help realize the communications between human beings. Generally hotels are places that have big and wide service capacity. This makes it possible that the ballrooms in hotels to be used for many aims. They are different places because of both dimension and character in respect to other spaces in hotels and also to similar spaces in other buildings. So,the subject of this research thesis is“General Study Of The Design Of Ballrooms In Istanbul Hotels”.My first objection was to describe the general space program of hotels, then to study the ballroom space in detail.My aim is to provide a reliable source to researches in the future on this subject. This study is made up of an introduction, two chapters and conclusion. In the introduction chapter,the aim of the study is emphasized and the importance of the subject in the study of ballrooms is evaluated. In the first chapter, the subject is dealt according to the type of hotel, the ballroom has taken place in, the principles of design and function of the room. In the second chapter, a comparative study is made in different respects among the eight hotels in Istanbul. In conclusion,ballrooms described in two chapters are examined with their common and different characteristics taken into consideration.
