The strain energy values are cumulated and plotted against the final consolidation stress level on semi-logarithmic plot as shown in Figure 6. The predicted results from this new method give better correlation coefficient and are more successful than conventional Tavenas method. xxu

Methods suggested by Schmertmann and Butterfield are also preferable.
