Özet
1960'lı yılların sonunda bütün bir öğrenci hareketleriyle çalkalanan Paris'in politik atmosferinde, Henri Lefebvre tarafından geliştirilen“kent hakkı”kavramı, kentte yaşayan bireylerin sahip olduğu yaşamsal ve kentsel hakları, gündelik hayatın tüm veçhelerini kapsayan bir haklar bütünü olarak ele alır. Lefebvre'in kenti Marksist açıdan ele alarak ileriye dönük bir kent tahayyülü kuran ve bunu mümkün kılacak farkındalığı ve mücadeleyi ön plana çıkaran yaklaşımı sonrasında kent hakkı tartışması günümüz kent çalışmaları literatüründe önemini ve güncelliğini korumaktadır. Kent hakkı kavramının geçmişini, ortaya çıkışını, teorik zenginliğini ve bugün için sahip olduğu potansiyelleri derinlemesine irdeleme amacındaki bu tez; öncelikle Weber'den itibaren şehrin bilimsel nesne olarak konumlandırılma sürecini ele alacak, sonrasında ise Fransa'nın 1960'lı yıllardaki politik atmosferini açıklayarak ortaya çıkışını dolayımlayan tüm tarihsel ve toplumsal koşullarla birlikte“kent hakkı”kavramını tartışmaya açacaktır.

In the political atmosphere of Paris, which was shaken with all student movements at the end of the 1960s, the concept of“the right to the city”developed by Henri Lefebvre treats the vital and urban rights of individuals living in the city as a set of rights that encompass all aspects of daily life. After Lefebvre's approach to the city from a Marxist perspective, creating a forward-looking city imagination and bringing the awareness and struggle to the foreground that will make it possible, the discussion of the right to the city maintains its importance and up-to-date in today's urban studies literature. This thesis aims to examine the history, emergence, theoretical richness of the concept of the right to the city in depth and its potentials for today; first, it will discuss the positioning process of the city as a scientific object since Weber, and then, by explaining the political atmosphere of France in the 1960s, it will open the concept of“right to the city”to discussion with all the historical and social conditions that mediated its emergence.
