Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı Türk Kültüründeki Atlı Spor Dallarının Tarihi Perspektif Açıdan İncelenmesidir. Çalışmada geleneksel spor dallarımızdan olan atlı sporların tarihsel gelişimi ve bu sporların topluma sağladığı faydalar araştırılmış ve atlardaki yaş, ırk, huy gibi çeşitli değişkenler göz önünde bulundurularak atlı sporların gelişiminin ortaya konması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümde araştırmanın amacı ve önemi üzerinde durulmuş ve böyle bir çalışmanın Türk kültürü açısından ne anlama geldiği kısaca açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. İkinci bölümde ise Türk kültüründe atın ve atlı sporların yeri ve önemi üzerinde durulmuş ve bu yapılırken de atın ve atlı sporların kültürümüzdeki tarihi gelişimi İslamiyet öncesi ve sonrasıyla ele alınmıştır. Diğer yandan olimpik gelişim sürecine de ayrıca mercek tutulmuştur. Üçüncü ve dördüncü bölümde atlı spor türleri ve ülkemizde bu sporun sorunları araştırılmış, özellikle geleneksel bağlamda ve modern çizgide atlı spor türleri ele alınmıştır. Atlı spor müsabakalarında başarıyı etkileyen hususlara da değinilmiştir. Bu bölümde atlı sporların ülkemizdeki sınırlılıkları ve sorunları geniş bir şekilde incelenmiştir. Dördüncü ve son bölümde ise ülkemizde atlı sporların durumu ve sorunları bağlamında çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur. Geçmişten günümüze insanın en temel meselelerinden olan kendisinin, yükünün ve eşyalarının taşınması olduğundan at, toplulukların gelişmesinde hareketli yaşamlarının devam etmesinde önemli bir işleve sahip olmuştur. Türk kültüründe da atın inkâr edilemez bir öneme sahip olduğu gerek geçmişten günümüze çeşitli kaynaklarda yer almasından gerekse de yaşayan kültürümüzde tuttuğu yerden anlaşılmaktadır. Türklerin atı erken dönemlerden itibaren ehlileştirip, çeşitli amaçlarla kullandıkları tarihi kayıtlarda sıkça belirtilmiştir. Hem konuyla ilgili kaynaklardan hem de Türk topluluklarının halen at ile olan ilişkisinden Türklerin at ile bütünleştiği söylenebilir. Geçmişten günümüze Türk kültüründe at ile ilgili oyunların ve atlı müsabakaların çeşitliliği ve yaygınlığı bu bütünleşmişliğin bir başka kanıtı olarak gösterilebilir.

The aim of this study is to examine the Equestrian Sports in Turkish Culture from a Historical Perspective. In this study, the historical development of equestrian sports, which is one of our traditional sports branches, and the benefits of these sports to society have been researched and it is aimed to reveal the development of equestrian sports by considering various variables such as age, race and temperament in horses. In the first part of the study, the purpose and importance of the research are emphasized and what such a study means in terms of Turkish culture is explained briefly. In the second part, the place and importance of horse and equestrian sports in Turkish culture are emphasized and while this is done, the historical development of horse and equestrian sports in our culture before and after Islam is discussed. On the other hand, the olympic development process was also focused on. In the third part, the types of equestrian sports and the problems of this sport in our country are investigated, especially the types of equestrian sports in traditional and modern lines are discussed. The issues affecting the success in equestrian sports competitions are also mentioned. In this section, the limitations and problems of equestrian sports in our country are examined in detail. In the fourth and last chapter, solutions are offered in the context of equestrian sports in our country and their problems. Since the transportation of himself, his burden and his belongings, which is one of the most fundamental issues of man from past to present, horse has had an important function in the development of communities to continue their active lives. The undeniable importance of horse in Turkish culture is understood both from its place in various sources from past to present and from its place in our living culture. It is frequently stated in the historical records that the Turks tamed the horse and used it for various purposes. It can be said that the Turks are integrated with the horse, both from the related sources and the relationship between the Turkish communities and the horse. The diversity and prevalence of horse-related games and equestrian competitions in Turkish culture from past to present can be shown as another proof of this integration.
