Özet
"Kent Haberciliğinde Haber Üretim Süreçleri' adını taşıyan tezde, İstanbul'daki inşaat sektörünün yarattığı kentsel tahribat ve dönüşümü, rant ekonomisini denetleyen gazetecilerin haber üretim süreçleri incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma için İstanbul'da, farklı basın kuruluşlarından belediye ve kent alanında çalışan 9 uzman muhabirle derinlemesine mülakatlar yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın temel problemi, İstanbul'un kentsel kimliğinin korunması, iktidarın gelir kaynağı olan rant ekonomisinin denetlenmesi, kamu kaynak ve hizmetlerinin denetlenmesinde gazetecilerin nasıl bir tutum izlediği, İstanbul'daki dönüşümün ne kadar kayıt altına alınabildiği, kent, iktidar ve sermaye denklemi arasında gazetecilerin mesleki sorumluluklarını ne kadar yerine getirebildikleridir. Kent, belediye, çevre gibi isimlendirmelerle çalışma alanlarını sınırlayan gazetecilerin ne koşullarda üretim yaptıkları ve bu üretimin nasıl sonuçlandığı irdelenmiştir.

In the thesis titled“Process of News Production in Urban News”, specialization in urban issues was discussed after theoretical framework regarding news. Urban destruction caused by the construction sector in Istanbul and the process of news-production by reporters inspecting profit-economy were studied. For this study, one-to-one interviews were conducted with nine expert correspondants, working in the field of municipality and urban policies in Istanbul. The plots of the study were prevention of the civic identity of Istanbul, inspection of the profit-economy which provides income for the power, how reporters approach to the supervision of civil sources and services, how much of the transformation in Istanbul could be recorded and how much could reporters take over their occupational responsibilities inbetween the equation of city-power and fund. It was searched for under which circumstances reporters, who restrict their work-fields with titles like urban, municipality, environment, do make production and how this production is resulted.
