The thesis is composed of an entrance and two chapters. In the entrance meaning of the word“rhetoric”in Arabic language, its devolopment like a science, writers who wrote on rhetoric and their books. Without going into details general information were provided on these subjects. In the first chapter, under the heading“Simile the notion of simile and its theory in its historical evolution process -were explained. The function of simile in Arabic rhetoric was expressed. In addition to that a lot of models of simile were given. In the second chapter under the heading ”Metaphor“, the real notion of a word was pointed out, then general information and various kinds of the metaphor were given, later related a historical process of the metaphor according to Arab linguists and scientists of literature. In addition that rhetoric dimension of the metaphor was mentioned. It's observed that the notions of ”simile“ and ”metaphor" were becomed known by Arabs for a long ages in a scientific.89»platform and have an important position in their language and literature.
