ABSTRACT Our thesis titled as the mythologic items in Islamic Culture primarily aims the understanding of a mentality. We accepted that the minding of Islamic Com munities include the mythologic items. We studied the mytholgy concept in the first part. We investigated,“What is mythology?”,“Relationship between mythology and religion”,“causes of ten dency to the mytology and finally ”mythological value and tendencres which exist in today's modern communities.“ In the second part, we applied the theoretic consequences in the first part to the Islamic Culture. We did this application connected with person cult. We studied the mythologic deviation and images related with understanding of mus- lims about ”prophert, sahabe and saint" Space-time pattern will be subject in another detailed study. Mehmet Evkuran
