Özet
Bu çalışma, Sokratik yöntemin çocukların eleştirel düşünme becerilerine ve ahlaki yargılarına etkisini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Uygulama Anaokulu'na devam eden 5-6 yaş grubu 15 çocuk ve 2 öğretmen oluşturmuştur. Çalışmada araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen Sokratik yönteme göre hazırlanan eleştirel düşünme eğitim programı, haftada iki gün olmak üzere toplamda 10 hafta süreyle uygulanmıştır. Karma araştırma yöntemi kullanılan çalışmanın nicel verileri,“Demografik Bilgi Formu”ve“Ahlaki Yargı Ölçeği”, nitel verileri ise“Görüşme Formu”ve“Video Kayıtları”ile elde edilmiştir. Nicel verilerin analizinde IBM SPSS 22 paket programı kullanılarak Friedman Testi, Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar Testi ve Tekrarlı Ölçümler için Anova Testi yapılmıştır. Nitel verilerin analizinde ise NVIVO 12 Plus programı kullanılarak içerik analizi yapılmış ve kodlamalara bağlı olarak tema, alt tema ve kategoriler oluşturulmuştur. Çalışma sonucunda, Sokratik yönteme göre hazırlanan eleştirel düşünme eğitim programının çocukların ahlaki yargı düzeylerini desteklediği belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca bu programın çocukların eleştirel düşünme becerilerine etkisi, eleştirel düşünmeye yönelik davranışlar ve eleştirel düşünmeye yönelik olmayan davranışlar temaları altında toplanmış ve programın çocukların eleştirel düşünmeye yönelik davranışlarını artırdığı, eleştirel düşünmeye yönelik olmayan davranışlarını ise azalttığı sonucu ortaya çıkmıştır. Buna ilaveten öğretmen görüşlerine göre bu yöntemin çocuklara katkısı olumlu görüşler ve olumsuz görüşler temaları altında belirlenerek; olumlu görüşler teması bilişsel ve duyuşsal alt temaları altında detaylandırılmıştır. Sonuç olarak Sokratik yönteme göre hazılanan eleştirel düşünme eğitim programının 5-6 yaş grubu çocukların ahlaki yargılarına ve eleştirel düşünme becerilerine olumlu yönde katkısı olduğu tespit edilmiş ve bu yöntemin anaokullarında ve anasınıflarında kullanılması ve öğretmenlere bu yönteme yönelik eğitim verilmesi önerilmiştir.

This study is conducted to analyze the impact of Socratic method on children's critical thinking skills and moral judgments. The study group of the research consists of 2 teachers and 15 children in the 5-6 age group attending to Practice Kindergarten. In the study, the critical thinking education program prepared according to the socratic method developed by the researcher is applied two days a week for 10 weeks in total. Mixed research method is used in this study. In this context, quantitative data is acquired through“Demographic Information Form”and“Moral Judgment Scale”, qualitative data is collected via“Interview Form”and“Video Recordings”. Friedman Test, Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Repeated Measures ANOVA Test are performed by using IBM SPSS 22 packages in the analysis of quantitative data. For the qualitative analysis, content analysis is carried out by using NVIVO 12 Plus program and depending on the codings, themes, sub-themes and categories were created. As a result of the study, it is found that the critical thinking education program prepared according to the socratic method significantly effects the moral judgment levels of children. Moreover, the effect of this prgram to children's critical thinking skills is gathered under two themes as critical thinking behaviors and non-critical thinking behaviors and it is revealed that the program increases the critical thinking behaviors and decreases the non-critical thinking of the children. In addition to this, after gathering the contribution of this method under the themes of positive opinions and negative opinions according to the opinions of the teachers, theme of positive opinions is detailed under the cognitive and affective sub-themes. As a result, it is determined that the critical thinking education program prepared according to the socratic method has a positive impact on the moral judgments and critical thinking skills of children in the 5-6 age group and it is suggested to use this method in kindergartens and nursery schools and to provide training for teachers regarding this method.
