Özet
Coğrafya, ilkçağlardan beri süregelen ve gelişmekte olan bir bilim dalıdır. İnsanoğlunun dünyayı tanıma ve araştırma merakı isteği sonucunda da bugünkü halini almıştır. Bu çalışmada da Coğrafya'nın Osmanlı Devleti okullarındaki ilerleyişi ele alınmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışmada, ilk olarak birinci bölümde Tanzimat dönemdeki okulların ders programlarından ve coğrafya dersinin hangi okullarda yer aldığından bahsedilmiştir. Ayrıca, bu dönemde kurulan yükseköğretim ve askeri okullar hakkında da ayrıntılı olarak bilgi verilmiştir. Bölümün sonunda ise dönemin coğrafyacıları ve eserleri işlenmiştir. İkinci bölümde II. Abdülhamid dönemi ders programları ve Coğrafya ders kitapları detaylı olarak ele alınmıştır. Son bölümde ise II. Meşrutiyet döneminin özelliklerinden bahsedilip dönemin eğitim kurumları hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Coğrafya dersinin işlenişi ve dönemin coğrafya kitapları hakkında da bilgi verilmeye çalışılmıştır. Son olarak medreselerin bu dönemdeki durumu ele alınmış, dönemin coğrafyacıları ve eserlerinden de detaylı olarak bahsedilmiştir.

Geography is a branchof science that has been ongoing since ancient times. As a result of the desire of human beings to know and research the eorld, it has taken its present from as a result of the desire of human beings to know the world and research. İn this study, the progress of Geography in the Ottoman State schools and was tried to be addressed. In this study, firstly, in the first part, the curriculum of the schools in the Tanzimat period and in which schools the geography lesson is located are mentioned.In the second part, it is mentioned about the curriculum of the schools in Tanzimat period and in which schools the geography lesson took place. İn addition, detailed information was given about higher education and military schools established during this period. At the end of the section, geographers and works of the period were studied. In the second part, II. Abdulhamid period curriculum and Geography textbooks are discussed in detail. In the last part, the characteristics of the“Second Constitutional Era”are mentioned and information is given about the educational insotitutions of the period. It was also tried to give information about the teaching of the geography lesson and the geography books of the period. Finally, the situation of madrasahs in this period has been handled and geographers and works of the period have been mentioned in detail.
