Özet
Bu yüksek lisans tezi çalışması Tuna Nehri üzerinde yer alan ve ticaret bağlamında Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun önemli sancaklarından birisi olan Si-listre Sancağı'nın 1788-1792 tarihlerindeki gümrük verilerinden hareketle Si-listre ticaretine ışık tutmayı ve Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun ticaret yapısı hak-kında bir örneklem oluşturmayı amaçlamak üzere kaleme alınmıştır. Bu amaçtan hareketle, İstanbul BOA. D. BMK. SLM. tasnifinde yer alan ve söz konusu dört yılı kapsayan 22657 (32 sayfa), 22661 (32 sayfa), 22665 (22 sayfa) ve 22659 (26 sayfa) numaralı defterler arşivden temin edilmiş, transk-ript edilmiş ve sonrasında içerdikleri veriler incelenerek analize tabi tutularak yorumlanmıştır. Söz konusu defterlerin içerdikleri verilerden Silistre'de ticaret yapan tüccarlar, Silistre ticaretinde ticarete konu olan mallar, Silistre ticare-tinde ticarete konu olan malların gümrüğü bıraktıkları vergiler ve nihayetinde Silistre Gümrüğü'nün dört yıllık gelir-gider dengesi incelenerek Silistre'nin ti-cari yapısının dört yıllık bir fotoğrafı çekilmiştir. Bu ticaret, Osmanlı'nın söz konusu dönemdeki ticari yapısı için de bir örneklem oluşturmaktadır. Bu tez çalışması sonucunda elde edilen en genel sonuçlar, Silistre ticaretinde Müs-lüman tüccarların ezici bir ağırlıkta bulunduğu, ticaret mallarının ağırlıklı ola-rak tüketim mallarından (gıda) oluştuğu, gıda malları ve bazı ara mallarının gümrüğe en çok vergiyi bıraktığı ve nihayetinde söz konusu dönemde Silistre Gümrüğü'nün gelirlerinin giderlerinden fazla olduğu şeklinde belirtilebilir. This thesis aims to illustrate the commerce of the Ottoman town of Silistre between 1788-1792 and to construct a model for the commercial structure of the Ottoman Empire. The source material of the research is the customs re-gisters of the town, which is situated on the Danube River and has a conside-rable commercial capacity. In line with the goal of the research, the archival materials related to the topic, namely the customs books (BOA. D. BMK.SLM 22657, 22661, 22665, 22659) for the years between 1788 and 1792 were ob-tained from the Ottoman State Archives in Istanbul first, and, after the pro-cess of transcription, the data acquired from the materials was subjected to a meticulous analysis and interpretation. The data contained in the sources casts light on the merchants active in the town, the goods traded in the area and the taxes paid for these goods. The assessment of the data allows the reader to see the balance between the revenue and expenditure and to get an overall view of the commerce in the region for a period of four years. The picture obtained from the region would serve as a sample for the commercial structure of the Empire during the same period. The results attained at the end the research suggest that the Muslim subject of the Empire dominated the trade in the area; the major articles of trade consisted of consumption (foodstuff) goods; the foodstuffs and certain interim goods were supplied the bulk of the tax income; and the revenues of the customs of Silistre at that ti-me exceeded the expenditures.
