Özet
Felsefede doğruluk ölçütü sorunu, bilginin; kaynağını, sınırını ve güvenirliğini içeren epistemolojik bir sorundur.“Bir şeyin bilinmesinin ölçütü nedir?”olarak da formüle edilebilen bu sorunun tartışılmasında filozoflar, tek ölçütü öznellik olan solipsizm tehlikesine düşmeden,“bilmenin”gerekçelerine doğruluk, gerçeklik ve algı bağlamında cevap aramıştır. 20. yüzyılda çözümlemeci yöntemin gelişmesiyle tartışmalar, mantıksal-dilsel ilişkiler zemininde, kavram ve yargıların anlamı üzerine yoğunlaşır. Doğruluk ölçütü sorunu, ifadelerin anlamlılık ölçütü sorununa dönüşür. Bu aynı zamanda yeni felsefenin de merkez sorunudur. Dil felsefesi olarak da bilinen bu yeni felsefenin önemli isimlerden biri, hem deneysel ve çözümlemeci felsefeyi benimsemesi hem de Viyana Çevresi ile yakın ilişki kurması bakımından A. J. Ayer'dir. Felsefeye mantık, matematik ve deneysel bilimler çerçevesinde işlev kazandırmaya çalışan Ayer, metafiziği ve değerler alanını dışarıda bırakmak suretiyle önermelerin doğruluğuna, görüngücülük üzerinden bir ölçüt önerir. Bu ölçüt, mantıkçı pozitivizmin doğrulanabilirlik ölçütünün yenilenmiş halidir. Bu tezin amacı, bu önerinin felsefi dayanaklarını çözümlemek, ilişkili olduğu kavramları, yargıları ve sorunları açımlamak, Ayer'in bulgularını incelemek ve onları eleştirel bir şekilde değerlendirmektir.

The problem of the criterion of truth in philosophy is an epistemological problem that includes the source, limit and reliability of knowledge. Discussing the question of“what is the criterion of knowing something?”, the philosophers sought answers to the reasons of“knowing”in the context of truth, reality and perception without falling into the danger of solipsism, the sole criterion of which is subjectivity. With the development of analytic method in the 20th century, discussions focused on the meaning of concepts and judgments on the basis of logical-linguistic relations. The problem of the criterion of truth becomes the problem of the criterion of meaningfulness of statements. This also becomes the central problem of the new philosophy. One of the prominent names of this new philosophy, also known as“philosophy of language”, is A. J. Ayer, who adopted experimental and analytical philosophy and established a close relationship with the Vienna Circle. By trying to give philosophy a function within the framework of logic, mathematics and experimental sciences, Ayer proposes a criterion on the accuracy of propositions by excluding the field of metaphysics and values. This criterion is a revision of the verifiability criterion of logical positivism. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the philosophical basis of this proposal, to explain the related concepts, judgments and problems, to examine Ayer's findings and to critically evaluate them.
