Özet
Coğrafya dünyayı algılamamızı ve anlamamızı sağlayan bir bilimdir. Geçmişten günümüze hangi ölçekte olursa olsun, mekânsal olay ve olguların nerede nasıl meydana geldiğini doğal ve beşeri süreçlerin işleyişi gerek coğrafya araştırmaları gerekse coğrafya öğretimi içinde alınmaktadır. Bu bağlamda bir yandan sözü edilen bu doğal ve beşeri olayların kendi içindeki işleyişi bir yandan ise birbirleriyle olan etkileşimleri coğrafyanın temelini oluşturur. Dünya üzerindeki benzerlik ve farklılıkların anlaşılması, birbirleriyle olan ilişki ve etkileşimlerinden yola çıkılarak, mevcut durumun ortaya konulması yanında, karşılaşılan sorunlara çözüm önerilmesi ve geleceğe yönelik planlamalar açısından son derece önemlidir. Coğrafya dünya ile ilgilenmekle birlikte bilgi iletişim teknolojilerinin bu kadar gelişmediği dönemlerde yakın çevre özelliklerinin bilinmesi daha da önemli idi. Her ne kadar son yıllarda zaman-mekân yakınlaşması olarak ifade edilen süreç dolayısıyla mekânsal olaylar çok farklı bir anlam taşımakta ise de günümüzde de yakın çevrenin ister doğal ister beşeri coğrafya özelliklerinin bilinmesi önemini sürdürmektedir. Böylece gerek coğrafya araştırmaları gerekse öğretim sürecinde ve öğretim programlarında yakın çevre coğrafi özelliklerine ilişkin konulara yer verilmektedir. Öyleki 2005'den itibaren radikal değişiklikler yaşanan lise coğrafya dersi öğretim programında geçmiş yıllardan farklı olarak yakın çevre coğrafya özelliklerinin öğretimine ilişkin kazanımlara yer verilmiş olması konunun önemini göstermektedir. Belirtilenlerden hareketle bu çalışma coğrafya öğretiminde yakın çevrenin öğretilmesi konusunda öğretmen görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla hazırlanmıştır. Böylece yaşanılan yerin (il merkezi, ilçe merkezi) yakın çevresindeki coğrafi özelliklerinin coğrafya derslerinin öğretilmesindeki etkilerini ortaya konulmaya çalışmaktadır. Buna bağlı olarak çalışma, öğretmenlerin, yakın çevre coğrafi özelliklerinin öğretiminde ne gibi yöntem ve materyaller kullandıkları, ne gibi sorunlarla karşılaştıklarını ve öğretmenlerin sorunların çözümüne yönelik önerilerinin neler olduğunu belirlemek gibi alt amaçlara sahiptir. Bu çalışmanın verileri 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında Hakkâri'de görev yapmakta olan coğrafya öğretmenlerinden toplanmıştır. Araştırmada Nitel Araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada iki bölümden ve açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan bir Görüşme Formu kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, Betimsel Analiz yöntemi ile çözümlenerek tablolar halinde sıklık/frekans ve yüzde dağılımları ile birlikte değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada elde edilen verilere göre ulaşılan sonuçlar ve konuya ilişkin önerilere yer verilmiştir.

Geography is a science that allows us to perceive and understand the world. Regardless of the scale from past to present, how spatial events and phenomena occur takes place in both geography research and geography teaching. In this context, on the one hand, these natural and human events and their interactions on the other hand form the basis of the geography. Understanding the similarities and differences in the world is very important in terms of presenting the current situation, suggesting solutions to the problems encountered and planning for the future, starting from the relationships and interactions with each other. Although geography was interested in the world, it was even more important to know the characteristics of the close environment in the periods when information communication technologies were not developed so much. Although the spatial events have a very different meaning due to the process which has been expressed as a time-space convergence in recent years, it is still important to know the natural or human geography characteristics of the immediate environment. Thus, both geography researches and teaching process and teaching programs include topics related to geographical characteristics of the near environment. In fact, in 2005, the high school geography curriculum, which has undergone radical changes since 2005, has included the acquisitions related to the teaching of the geography characteristics shows the importance of the subject. From this point of view, this study was prepared in order to determine the opinions of teachers about teaching the close environment in geography teaching. Thus, it tries to reveal the effects of the geographical characteristics of the place of residence (province center, district center) in the immediate environment in the teaching of geography courses. Accordingly, the study has sub-objectives such as determining what methods and materials teachers use in the teaching of the geographical characteristics of the near environment, what problems they face and what their suggestions for solving the problems are. The data of this study was collected from geography teachers working in Hakkari in 2018-2019 academic year. Qualitative research method was used in the research. An interview form consisting of two parts and open-ended questions was used. The findings were analyzed by Descriptive Analysis method and evaluated in tables with frequency / frequency and percentage distributions. The results obtained according to the data obtained in the study and suggestions on the subject are included.
