Özet

Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı 11. Sınıf coğrafya dersinde istasyon tekniği kullanımının öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına etkisini ve tekniğe yönelik öğrenci görüşlerini ortaya koymaktır. Yöntem: Araştırmada nicel ve nitel araştırma yöntemlerinin birlikte kullanıldığı karma desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Erzurum ilinde bir Anadolu lisesinde 11. Sınıfta okuyan üç farklı şubedeki toplam 63 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama araçları olarak nicel verilerin toplanması için“Türkiye'de tarım ve hayvancılık”konularını kapsayan coğrafya akademik başarı testi (CABT), nitel verilerin toplanmasında ise öğrencilerin derse karşı ilgilerinde oluşan değişiklikleri belirlemek için yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu (YYGF) kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda CABT' den elde edilen verilerin analizinde tek yönlü ANOVA ve çoklu karşılaştırma testlerinden Tukey testi, YYGF' den elde edilen verilerin analizinde ise içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırma sonucunda, nicel verilerden elde edilen bulgulara göre, akademik başarı açısından deney grubu ve kontrol gruplarının ön test puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklık olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Deneysel uygulama sonucunda yapılan son test ve altı hafta sonra tüm gruplara tekrar uygulanan kalıcılık testi sonucunda ise son test ve kalıcılık testi puanlarının deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca nitel verilerden elde edilen bulgulara göre, istasyon tekniği uygulamaları sonucunda, öğrencilerin coğrafya derslerine karşı ilgilerinin olumlu yönde değiştiği, bu yöntemle işlenen coğrafya derslerinin daha çok sevildiği sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır. Sonuç: Araştırma sonucunda, derslerde istasyon tekniği kullanımının, mevcut programa göre öğrencilerin akademik başarılarını ve kalıcı öğrenmelerini anlamlı bir düzeyde artırdığı, ayrıca dersleri eğlenceli ve zevkli hale getirdiği, öğrencilerin tekniğe ilişkin olumlu görüşlere sahip olduğu ve coğrafya derslerinin diğer konularında da kullanılmasını istedikleri tespit edilmiştir.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to reveal the effect of station technique on 11th Grade Students' academic achievement and students' opinions about the techniques. Method: The composite pattern, in which quantitative methods and qualitative methods are used together, was preferred in this research. Research's study group composed of 63 students from 3 different 11th-grade classes of a high school located in Erzurum Province. To collect the quantitative data, a test that involves“ Agriculture and Stockbreeding in Turkey”(CABT), was used as a data collection tool and to collect qualitative data, a semi-structured interview form (YYGF) which evaluates the alteration between the interest of students in the lesson was used. As a result of the study, one way Anova and Tukey from multiple comparison tests were used in the data analyzes from CABT and content analyzes method was used in the data analyzes from YYGF results. Findings: As a result of the study, according to the findings obtained from quantitative data, it was determined that there were no significant differences between the pre-test scores of the experiment group and the control group in terms of academic achievement. As a result of the experimental application and the retention test applied to all groups after six weeks, it was determined that the final test and retention test scores showed a significant difference in favor of the experimental group. Also, as a result of the quantitative data, station technique application proves that students' interest in Geography increased and the geography lessons in which this method was used were loved more by students. Result: As a result of the study, the use of station technique in the courses significantly increased the academic achievements and learning retention according to the current curriculum, as well as making the lessons fun and enjoyable and also students had positive opinions about the technique and wanted this technique for the other topics of geography courses.
