Özet
Bu çalışmanın konusu Osmanlı Devleti döneminde Urfa'da ki Belediyenin çalışmalarıdır. Urfa Belediyesinin organları detaylı bir şekilde bu çalışmada yer almıştır. Çalışmanın gelişim aşamasında belediye başkanları, meclisleri, görevleri, belediyenin kuruluşu, hizmetleri, gelir- giderleri ve aldığı vergiler önemli ölçüde anlatılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Osmanlı Dönemindeki belediyeler bilhassa da Urfa Belediyesini aydınlatmaktır. Bu çalışma tarih açısından tarihi bir kayıt olarak çok önemlidir. Çalışmanın yazım aşaması zorlu geçmiştir. Sebebi ise daha önce hiç işlenmemiş bir konudur ve belge olarak sınırlıdır. Çalışmanın sonucunda Osmanlı Dönemin de ki belediyeler ve Urfa Belediyesi hakkında önemli verilere ulaşılmıştır. Bu çalışmayla eski belediyelerin kuruluş ve işleyişi bakımından bugüne değin nasıl bir gelişme gösterdiğinin aydınlatılması sebebiyle büyük önem taşır

The present study focuses on the works of the Municipality in Urfa during the Ottoman Period. The present study made an in-depth analysis of the organs of the Urfa Municipality. During the development phase of the present study, municipals, councils, tasks, establishment, services, incomes-expenditures and the taxes of the Municipality were tried to be explained to a large extent. The present study intends to shed light on the municipalities, in particular Urfa Municipality during the Ottoman Period. Therefore, the present study is significant as a historical record in history. The writing phase of the present study was rather challenging in that the main topic in the study had never been studied before and thus, the study was restricted in terms of documents. The present study yielded important data about the municipalities and Urfa Municipality during the Ottoman Period. The findings of the present study were salient in that they highlighted how the old municipalities showed development with respect to their establishment and running.
