Özet
Turizm sektörünün başarısını etkileyen en önemli faktörlerden birisi turist rehberlerinin performanslarıdır. Turist rehberleri sahip oldukları yetkinlik derecesinde turistleri memnun edebilmektedirler. Özellikle farklılaşan turist yapısına göre turist rehberlerinin de kendilerini sürekli geliştirmeleri gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı turist rehberlerinin kişisel gelişim çabalarının, kişisel ve mesleki yetkinliklerine ait görüşlerinin ve performans yeterliliklerine verdikleri önemin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma beş ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde araştırmanın problemi, amacı, önemi, varsayımları, sınırlılığı ve tanımları açıklanmıştır. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümü ilgili alan yazından oluşmakta ve konu ile ilgili daha önce yapılmış araştırmaları içermektedir. Çalışmanın üçüncü bölümünde araştırma modeli, örneklem ve evren, veri toplama aracı ve tekniği ile araştırma verilerinin analizine ilişkin değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın dördüncü bölümü analizlere ilişkin bulgular ve yorumları kapsamaktadır. Beşinci bölümde elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda araştırmanın sonuçlarına ve önerilerine yer verilmiştir. Çalışmada verilerin toplanmasında nitel araştırma yöntemi olan görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri, 2019 Şubat ve Mart ayları arasında yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığıyla, 15 turist rehberi ile yapılan yüz yüze ve telefon görüşmeleri ile elde edilmiştir. Görüşmeler sonucunda elde edilen bilgiler betimsel ve içerik analizi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına bakıldığında araştırmaya katılan turist rehberlerinin kişisel ve mesleki yetkinlik düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu, kişisel ve mesleki özelliklerinin gelişimine önem veren, kişisel ve mesleki gelişimleri için çaba gösteren bireyler oldukları sonucuna varılmıştır.

One of the most important factors affecting the success of the tourism sector is the performance of tourist guides. Tourist guides can satisfy tourists in the degree of competence they possess. In particular, tourist guides need to continuously improve themselves according to the changing tourist structure. The purpose of this study is to determine the personal development efforts of the tourist guides, their opinions about their personal and professional competencies and the attach importance to their performance competences. The research consists of five main sections. In the first section of study are explained the problem, purpose, significance, assumptions, limitations and definitions of the study. The second section of the study comprises related literature and includes the related researches which were done formerly. In the third section of the study, the research model, sample and universe, data collection tool and technique, and assessments related to the analysis of the research data were made. The fourth section of the study contain findings and comments interested in analyses. The interview technique, which is a qualitative research method, was employed in this study to the collection of the data. Survey data was obtained by face-to-face and telephone interviews with 15 tourist guides between February and March 2019 through semi-structured interview. As a result of these interviews, information were evaluated by descriptive and content analysis. According to the results of the research, it is concluded that the tourist guides who participated in the research were high personal and professional competency levels, cared for the development of their personal and professional characteristics, and they were individuals who made efforts for their personal and professional development.
