Özet
Birer tasarım ürünü olan sanat eserleri, aynı zamanda bir yapıt niteliğindedir. Özellikle heykel sanatının yapıtları, çeşitli form ve biçim dili aracılığıyla alımlayıcısında farklı etkileşimler kurar. Bu etkileşimi etkin kılan araçlardan biri de tipografidir. Yapıtlar üzerinde yer verilen tipografinin biçimsel ve anlatımsal yönden tasarıma kattığı değer tartışılamaz derecede çoktur. Kavramsal bir anlatım aracına dönüşen tipografi, görsel iletişim açısından içerikle farklı bağlar kurabilmektedir. Kimi zaman yapıtın anlamını daha görünür kılarken kimi zaman da yapıtla birlikte anlam üretir. Tipografi heykel sanatında yapıta yardımcı katkı sağlamanın yanı sıra, yapıtın kendisi de olabilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, yazının görsel bir anlatım dili olarak üç boyutlu yapıtlarla olan ilişkisini incelemektir. Türkiye'de var olan tipografinin kullanıldığı anıtsal heykeller tespit edilerek, tipografi sanatının bu heykellerdeki kullanım amaçları açığa çıkarılmıştır. Bu çalışma sürecinde, konuya ilişkin kuramsal çalışmalar esas kaynak olarak ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın kuramsal olandan farklı olan diğer yapısı ise heykeller hakkında elde edilen bilgilerin bire bir heykeltıraşları tarafından soru-cevap şeklinde görüşerek ulaşılmış olmasıdır. Geçmişte ve günümüzde bu tez çalışmasına kaynak niteliği taşıyacak olan tipografi kullanımı görülen anıt heykeller birer örnek niteliği taşıyarak ele alınıp yorumlanmıştır. Anıt heykellerdeki tipografik dilin incelenmesi, teknolojik gelişmelerle beraber süreç içerisindeki yansımaların toplum üzerindeki sanatsal bakış açılarının gelişimine ve yorumlanabilmesine örnek olmaktadır.

Works of art are the products of design and they also have a quality of being a set piece. Especially pieces of sculpture establish various interactions with its receivers by various form and shape languages. One of the means that makes this interaction strong is typography. The significance of the contribution to figural and depictive ways which is provided by the typography included in on the pieces is indisputably great. Typography, which turns into a conceptual expression tool, can establish various connections with the content in terms of visual communication. It sometimes makes the meaning of the piece more visible while sometimes creating meanings together with the piece. The aim of this study is to investigate the connection between three dimensioned pieces, and writing as a visual expression language. The aims of typography will be revealed by identifying the existing monumental pieces which includes typography in Turkey. In this study process, theoretical studies on this topic will be regarded as main sources. The different structure of this study from the theoretical studies is the practical studies which will be carried out on the field. The other structure of the study, which is different from the theoretical one, is that the information obtained about the sculptures is reached by question-answer by the sculptors. The monumental pieces from both past and present which includes typography utilization and can be regarded as sources for this thesis study will be addressed as examples and interpreted. Investigation of the typographic language on monumental pieces sets an example to the development and interpretation of perspective of arts in public provided by the technological developments and its reflections in the process.
