Özet
Sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarında yer alan sorunların, iki başlık altında toplanıldığı görülmektedir. Bunlar; sosyal bilgilerin işleyişi ve sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarının içeriğidir. Dersin işleyişi bakımından; genel olarak öğrenci, öğretmen, okul ve çevre faktörleri dikkate alınmıştır. Kitapların içeriği açısından ise; tarih, coğrafya, vatandaşlık ve değerler eğitimi başlıkları etrafında çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Hâlbuki toplumumuzun ve ulusumuzun yapı taşı olan sosyal devlet ve sosyal devletin en önemli unsurlarından olan sosyal yardım, sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarında yeteri kadar yer almamaktadır. Bununla birlikte kitaplarda sosyal yardımla ilgili yer alan bilgiler de mevcut sosyal yardım yasalarına ve sosyal devlet anlayışına paralel gitmemiştir. Bu çalışmada söz konusu sorunun tespiti maksadıyla sosyal yardım ve sosyal yardımla ilişkili kavramların; ortaokul 5, 6 ve 7. sınıf sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarına ne oranda yansıdığı araştırılmaktadır. Çalışmada ders kitaplarında yapılan betimsel analiz sonucunda elde edilen veriler ile sosyal yardımlarla bağlantılı kavramların bulunmasına ilişkin betimsel istatistikler hazırlanmıştır. İstatistiklerin gösterildiği tablolardaki“K”sütunu, belirtilmiş kavramla ilgili atfedilen sınıfın sosyal bilgiler ders kitabında saptanan kelime sayısını ifade etmektedir. Tablolardaki“%”sütunu ise belirtilmiş kavramla ilgili atfedilen sınıfın sosyal bilgiler ders kitabında saptanan kelime sayısının, aynı kitaptaki toplam kelime sayısına oranını göstermektedir. Çalışmanın son kısmında, betimsel analiz sonucunda ulaşılan bulgulara ve bulgular doğrultusunda çeşitli önerilere yer verilmiştir.

It can be seen that the problems in social studies textbooks are grouped under two topics. These are; the treatment of social studies and the content of social studies textbooks. From the point of the treatment of the subject; factors of student, teacher, school and environment have been taken into consideration. From the point of the content of the textbooks; revisions have been made around the subjects of history, geography, citizenship and values education. However; social welfare, which is the building block of our society and one of the most fundamental elements of social state, does not play a sufficient part in social studies textbooks. In addition to this the information on social welfare given in the textbooks does not parallel the current social welfare laws and the understanding of social state. In this study; at what rate social welfare and concepts related to social welfare are reflected on the middle school 5th, 6th and 7th grades social studies textbooks is examined, for the purpose of the finding of the problem in question. In the study dexcriptive statistics regarding the finding of concepts related to social welfare are produced with descriptive analysis made on the textbooks. The“K”column of tables, where these statistics are presented, shows the number of words, which are relevant to the stated concept, that have been detected in the referred textbook. The“%”column shows the ratio between the number of words, which are relevant to the stated concept, that have been detected in the referred textbook and the number of total words in the same textbook. In the final part of the study, findings that are attained from the descriptive analysis and propositions in accordance with the findings are included.
