Özet
23 Nisan 1920'de Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi ilk toplantısını yapmış ve Milli Mücadelenin ardından, Türk milleti önemli bir kuruma kavuşmuştur. Kurucu Meclis özelliğiyle olağanüstü yetkilere sahip olan Meclis'in açılışıyla, hanedana dayalı egemenlik anlayışı yerini“egemenliğin kayıtsız şartsız milletin”olduğu bir anlayışa bırakmıştır. Mustafa Elvan Bey, Kozan milletvekili seçilmiş ve 11 Ağustos 1920'de TBMM'ye katılmıştır. 1950'ye kadar her dönem milletvekili seçilerek meclise giren M. Elvan Bey, milletvekilliğini sürdürdüğü yıllarda bir ara Afyon Askeri Hastanesi'nin başhekimliğini de yapmıştır. Meclis'te yaptığı konuşmalarda halkın sorunlarına eğilerek çözüm bulmaya çalışan ve gerekli durumlarda hükümete muhalefet ederek haksızlıklara karşı çıkan M. Elvan Bey, mecliste dikkat çeken bir isim olmuştur. I.TBMM'den sonra II-VIII. Yasama dönemleri arasında (1923-1950) Çorum milletvekili seçilen Mustafa Bey, 14 Mayıs 1950'ye kadar milletvekilliği yapmıştır. Evli ve 4 çocuk babası olan Mustafa Bey, 21 Ekim 1955'te vefat etmiştir.

Grand National Assembly of Turkey held its first meeting in April 23, 1920 and after the national struggle, Turkish Nation attained a significant foundation. With the opening of the First Assembly which had characteristic of constitvent assembly and exceptional Powers, conception of the sovereignty based on the dynasty left its place to the understanding of the unconditional sovereignity based on the nation. Mustafa Elvan Cantekin was selected as a deputy of Kozan and attended Turkish National Assembly in August 11, 1920. He was selected as a deputy every term and remained in parliament until 1950. In his years as a member of parliament, he continved to be the as a member of parliament, he continved to be the head doctor of Afyon Military Hospital. Mustafa Elvan Cantekin became a prominent name in the assembly by opposing the goverment in necessary cases aganist the injustices. He tried to find solutions to the problems of the public in his speeches at the Assembly. Mustafa Elvan Cantekin was not a deputy only in the national struggle and First Assembly Period, he was also served as an eight-term member in the Assembly. Mustafa Elvan Cantekin who was selected as a deputy of Çorum after the first parliament between the II- VIII legislative years (1923-1950), served as a deputy until May 14, 1950. Mustafa Elvan Cantekin who is married and has four children died on 21st October 1955.
