Fuat GÖKÇE Ocak 1996, 270 sayfa Bu tezin konusu, İzmir'in birçok tarihi ve kültürel değere sahip Tire ilçesindeki Matyos Han'ın restorasyonudur. İlk bölümde han kısaca tamtılmakta, sahip olduğu değerler ortaya konmakta; bunlar aracılığı ile de çalışmanın amacı belirtilmektedir. Daha sonraki bölümler de sırası ile de çalışma yöntemi, bölgenin ve binanın fiziksel analizi; tarihi araştırma, karşılaştırmalı çalışma ve bunların sonucunda hanın değerlendirilmesi; elde edilen tüm bilgilerin ışığında bir restitüsyon ve bunu izleyen bir restorasyon önerisi şeklindedir. Restorasyon, çalışma boyunca toplanan ve üretilen bilginin sentezlendiği bir sonuç bölümüdür.

ABSTRACT RESTORATION PROJECT OF MATYOS HAN IN TİRE, İZMÎR Tüy el, S. Engin M.S. in Restoration, Architecture Supervisor: Inst. Fuat GÖKÇE January 1996, 270 pages The subject of this thesis is the restoration of the Matyos Han, in Tire - a province of İzmir - possessing historical and cultural values. In the first chapter, the aim of the study is put forward through a short description of the building and an evaluation of the values which the Han possesses. The succeeding chapters comprise the methodology of the study, physical analysis of the region and the building, the historical research and comparative study followed by an evaluation of the Han among its contemporaries, the restitution based on the information acquired in the previous parts of the study, and a restoration suggestion, consecutively. This suggestion synthesizes the information gathered and produced throughout the study.
