Özet
Tarihsel süreçte devletsiz kabile toplumlarından modern toplumların ulus devlet formuna geçiş aşamaları bir tarihsel gelişmeyi göstermektedir. Bununla birlikte bu süreç değişimin tarihi olarak tanımlanabilir. Anthony Giddens'ın sosyolojik perspektifinden bakıldığında bu değişimin geleneksel-modern dikotomisine dayandığı görülebilir. Geleneksel ve moderni birbirinden ayıran kurumlar seti hem bir toplum sınıflandırmasını hem de toplumun oluşturduğu siyasal bir kurum olarak devlet sınıflandırmasını mümkün kılar. Bu kurumlar seti zaman ve mekânın organizasyonuna ve gücün kaynaklarına bağlıdır. Modern dönemin politik kurumu olarak ulus devlet tarih öncesi dönemden günümüz küresel dünyasında aldığı şekle kadar karmaşık ve çok boyutlu dönüşümler geçirerek ulus devlet sistemi içindeki şimdiki pozisyonunu almıştır. Giddens teorisinde modernliğin dünya çapında genişlemesi olarak ifade edilen küreselleşme ile bir iktidar kabı olarak ulus-devlet ilişkisi refleksif bir karakter taşır. Ekonomik, siyasal ve sosyal boyutlara sahip küreselleşme olayı ulus devletin dünya sistemi içindeki rolüyle birlikte sosyal siyasal ve ekonomik ilişkilerin özelliğini uluslararası ve ulusal düzeyde belirler. Bu çalışmada Giddens'ın yaklaşımında küreselleşme ve ulus devlet ilişkisi bir dönüşüm eylemi olarak ele alınmıştır. Bu bağlamda küresel sorunlara dönük tespit ve önerileri ortaya konulmuştur.

In the historical process, the transitional stages of tribal societies without state formation to modern socities with nation state form refer a historical development. In addition this period can be identified as a history of change. It is apparent that this change is based on the traditional-modern dichotomy from Anthony Giddens' sociological perspective. The set of institutions which distinguishes traditional and modern enable the classification of both society and state that society constitutes as a political institution. This set of institutions is related to the organization of time-space and the source of power. The nation state which is the political institution of the modern era had complicated and multidimensional transformations since ancient times till it took its current position in nation-state system. In Giddens' theory, relation between globalization which is stated as the expanding of modernity across the world and nation state as a power container indicates a reflexive characteristic. Globalization which has economical, political and social aspects determines both the role of nation state in world system and the features of its social, political and economic relations internationally and nationally. In this study, relation between globalization and nation state in Giddens' approach is addressed as a transformational act. Related designations and suggestions for global problems are submitted in this context.
